This was our fifth trip to Mexico and second trip to the Cancun area. The Xaman-Ha condominiums are located on a consistently quiet stretch of beach within a few short walking minutes of 5th Avenue shopping and dining. Ironically, just a quick walk to the north to the beach on the other side of the ferry boat pier and you will find that beach to be much more crowded with vendors and tourists.

We found Xaman-Ha to be a well groomed property. The pool was kept spotless, the entrance to the condominiums and the common areas were kept very clean and attractive. During the day a friendly lady is at the reception desk to answer questions or help with any scheduling of taxis or excursions.

Xaman-Ha is also very conveniently located to the local collectivo stop. No more than a five or ten minute walk from the condo and you can be boarding a collectivo bus to just about anywhere (north or south) that you want to go. We used the collectivo buses, which are nothing more than about a 14 person passenger van, to get to Xel-Ha, Rio Secreto, and Akumal. Simple, reliable, and inexpensive.

We found unit 7120 to be quite adequate for our needs. We used it as a base and spent most days exploring, on excursions or at the beach. Unit 7120 is located on the second floor of three floors. The maid service came in every other day and cleaned up, changed sheets, etc. The master bedroom is very comfortable, the second bedroom has two twin beds, and then there is a fold down bed just off the living room. We were a group of four, two couples traveling together. We chose to use the master bedroom and the fold down bed rather than the second bedroom as the second bathroom opened directly off the fold down bed area.

When we go back to Playa del Carmen, we would choose Xaman-Ha again without hesitation.
