The quiet neighborhood is close to the grocery store, walkable to downtown or the Heights shopping area with more restaurants, shops, the other grocery store. Very close to the swim center/tennis courts/Jackson Park plus Farmer's Market. Of course, there are numerous options to enjoy Hood River’s famous windsurfing, and kite-boarding sites (Event-Site, Hook, The Marina, and Spit are a 6-8 minute drive). Go west to visit several best-of-region wineries, within a few minutes by bike (Cathedral Ridge (Pinots); Marchesi (sumptuous Italian); and Mt Hood (dessert wines). 12 minutes bike to the west is the Post Canyon trails complex which has superb mt bike single-track and free-riding trails (70+ miles worth). Great road-biking too,right from the garage. By Mt. Hood and across the river are many more single-track hiking and mt bike trails. For winter, snowmobiling, XC skiing and snowshoeing.

From the entry, the kitchen is immediately to the right, (with a dining area adjoining), with modern all stainless steel appliances (convection double-oven, built-in smooth top-electric 4-burner cook top, built-in microwave, black-granite sink, large bottom-freezer refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, coffee-maker. Lots of counter space and stocked with basic condiments/spices, pots & pans, dishes, glasses, etc. From the dining table, there is even a partial view of the rugged North face of Mt. Hood, for the rare “Hood River 2-mountain view”. Further past the entry, to your right is the large living room with a comfortable, large, sectional sofa, with a great view of the Gorge and Mt. Adams. A sliding glass door opens onto the 140-degree view from the 32' long cedar balcony. A solid railing ensures privacy and child safety. A table and ample chairs plus a 2010 Weber gas grill BBQ with side-burner are provided, plus extra tank.

The north-facing balcony has welcome shade on hot summer days and is sheltered from much of the famous Gorge winds. The balcony has dining seating for 6 plus super comfortable rocking chairs with ottomans. From the entry, turn left to the bathroom with double sinks and large, remodeled shower. Also to the left of the entry is the master bedroom (12 x 16 ft) which has the same special view of the gorge and Mt. Adams… what an inspiring sight to wake up to! The second bedroom is slightly smaller, (without gorge view). Bedrooms have comfortable King beds with quality linens, a large closet, plus a chest of drawers for the master. The optional 3rd bed is a super comfortable, premium queen-size AeroBed with built-in electric pump that inflates in 3 minutes to a 22 inch height for easy use ( more comfortable than most sleeper-sofas.) The home has a 2010, premium, multi-zone central heating/cooling system with electronic air cleaner, plus electrical and plumbing upgrades.
