LUISA HOUSE A BEAUTIFUL APARTMENT IN THE HEART OF TRASTEVERE

Trastevere area Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-6)

After many years living in the midst of the Tuscan countryside, not within easy reach of any of the big cities, from time to time, I crave museums, cinema and beautiful shops. Even though distance-wise I am actually closer to Florence, I prefer to head to Rome for my citybreaks. I like Rome, possibly because it’s the city where I was born, but certainly because the weather is mild even in the winter. Being so close to the sea, there is often, eaven in the summer evenings, a light breeze called “ The Ponentino”.

I love Rome for the late hours it keeps so there is no risk of finding restaurants closed at 10 pm. You can visit some museums in the evenings at the weekends, giving you the chance during the daytime to go shopping in the countless shops where there is ample choice and the occasional bargain.

My apartament is in Trastevere 10 minutes’ walk from St. Peter’s, 5 minutes’ walk from St. Maria in Trastevere and just over the Tiber via either the Mazzini bridge or the Sisto bridge, and you are immediately in Campo dei Fiori, Pantheon and Piazza Navona.

The apartament is in a cul de sac which is closed at the end by the Botanic Garden and the slopes of

Gianicolo.

This residential street is considered one of the most beautiful in Rome for its backdrop of greenery. In fact as soon as you take the Via della Lungara it’s like opening the stage curtains and seeing the picturesque scenery of a play.

The apartments were constructed in 1800 by Cardinal Riario, from whom the street takes its name. Being one of only ten apartments, the flat is very quiet, with a monastery opposite and the Botanic Garden at the side. Even though it’s right in the heart of the historic centre of the city, you can enjoy the tranquillity whilst still being very close to appealing places such as restaurants, bars and shops of this area where the night life is very lively.

Romans famously love the small hours and seem almost to forget to sleep. Even some news stands are open at night time.

The apartment is furnished with antique furniture.

The house in the city which makes you feel at home...

Close to the quarter, guests can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of Rome from the Colle del Gianicolo. Even though the apartment is located right in the heart of the city, the apartment is quiet and peaceful due to the fact that it is located right next to the Botanical Garden (Orto Botanico).

From the house guests can easily reach the main historical sites of the city such as St. Peter Basilica, Navona Square, Spanish Steps and many other interesting sites of Rome.

The apartment includes:

· A living/dining room with double sofa-bed

· A kitchen with oven and refrigerator

· Main bedroom with king size bed

· Second bedroom with double bed

· A bathroom with shower and tube

· Central heating system

· Air conditioned

The apartment can accommodate up to 6 guests

Keywords: Cozy apartment (80 meter squares) located in Trastevere area, one of the most characteristic neighborhoods of Rome, at about 800 meters from the Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere, one of the most famous squares of the quarter with its narrow streets packed with antic restaurants, pizzerias, wine bars and lovely shops. Quaint, cosy and filled with the essence of Rome

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at Louisa's apt. for four nights, arriving on a monday and leaving friday morning, and had an absolutely fabulous time. We were a party of 6.

Louisa met us at the apt and showed us around making sure to answer all of our questions. Her place was clean and so adorable, we really loved the high ceilings, floor tiles, and her personal design. It really added to our stay in Rome. We enjoyed making meals there, and in the mornings i would do tai chi on the roof over looking the city. As mention her apt is within walking distance of all the major sites, and if one needs a bus it is easy enough to figure. She also provided a number that we could call to get traveling information in english, which was great as i was in need of it for planning our departure, to catch a train.

Being right in the city and close to everything was great, but also equally appreciated was how quiet her neighborhood is at night. Yet one could walk down the street and in a couple of blocks be in the heart of Trastevere's eating and nightlife area. Trastevere is such a fun neighborhood to explore with all of it's specialty shops, cheese, bread, pastries, our heads were spinning and our baskets full. Honesty we did not have enough time to do all that we wished. We dream of returning to Rome and would absolutely recommend staying at Louisa's home. It was a perfect place to explore Rome and get a feel of an Italian neighborhood. The apt building was filled with plants each floor, and the smells coming from other apts. in the building was amazing, all truly adding to our experience.
Thank you Louisa for everything, we will always appreciate the warmth and hospitality of your home.

Charming, Quirky, Delightful two large double bedrooms in Trastevere!

  • 4 of 5
Luisa´s beautiful apartment is in the Heart of Trastevere! The two double bedrooms were perfect with lots of storage place. We loved the apartment had a bathtub ... which is so rare to find. Luisa has almost every reference book in Rome on her livingroom bookshelves. The kitchen had everything that was required and previous guests had kindly left bits and pieces --- like olive oil, salt and pepper, ground coffee. We could have stayed for ever. The location was PERFECT ... on a quiet one way street opposite a convent ... no vespas racing up and down the street. Approximately 5 minute walk to the active area of Trastevere´s cafes, bars and restaurants. We loved it! Grazie Mille Luisa!

Location, location, and lots of character, too!

  • 5 of 5
We have just stayed in this apartment for 16 days with our two young adult children. We loved everything about it. It is super charming with lots of artistic touches. It was a pleasure to come home to and very well located close to Trastevere shops and restaurants, the Ponte Sisto bridge to the Campo de Fiori neighborhood and also the Vatican. We went back and forth almost daily to the other side of the river and strolled home from the New Years celebration at the Circus Maximus.

The floor plan worked very well for us. The two bedrooms are nicely spread out with cozy living room in between. They can be set up with two beds per room, or a matrimonial bed instead. The kitchen is very well equipped and we made many meals in the apartment including a multi course Christmas dinner. It is great fun to shop in the many speciality stores in Trastevere. The bathroom is completely adequate although not modern. The owner had just installed a new hot water system which worked perfectly and the apartment was warm and cozy throughout our stay.

The apartment is on the first floor (one flight of stairs) of a very quiet building. We only saw other residents two or three times during our stay. The block is also quiet with a convent across the street and the building backs up to the botanical garden. Yet it's only a block or two to Trastevere restaurants and night life.

The owner is lovely and easy to work with. She met us when we arrived, even though it was after dark, and the next morning took us on a stroll through the neighborhood pointing out amenities and sights. She was available to us via email throughout our stay.

I think almost anyone would be thrilled to live like a Roman for a few days or weeks in this fabulous apartment.

Delightful haven on the quietest street in Rome

  • 5 of 5
I stayed with a friend on a two week architecture study course. The owner was there to meet us and was very helpful and welcome. The apartment is in an ideal location for reaching all of the sites, since it is on a dead end street that leads to the botanical gardens it is very quiet.

The apartment was spacious clean and comfortable, everything as described on the website.

A pair of friends

  • 5 of 5
My friend and I stayed at Luisa's apartment in early April and enjoyed it so much ! She is a very nice and hospitable woman. I have made a new friend.
The apartment itself is very charming and well located. We each had a room to ourselves but also had the comforts of a living area, dining table, and kitchen. The apartment is clean and well maintained, and the descriptions of the apartment were very accurate. Also the area is very quiet so I was able to sleep well which is difficult for me.
We walked each day to see the sites, and all was very close. I hope to visit again and stay in the same apartment. There is nothing like living as a local to feel and experience the heart of Italy. It is as close as opening the windows and letting in the fresh air.

Owner's Response: Dear Lisa,
You were really nice, along with your friend to remember me and your stay in Rome and in my apartment.
I hope that your holiday has been unable to come there also a desire to return.
When the guests arrive I try to do everything possible so that we can find well during the period of their holiday I can imagine how this is particularly important and delicate their time. I also try to make sure that it is possible, during the 'welcome and stay to make guests feel at ease in the country who wish to visit and learn. You may have noticed that during the stay or keep in contact with them through e-mail or even with your phone in the apartment there is in fact a landline from which you can get all the phone calls and so in the case of some small problem, which can happen, they are able to reach the guests and maintain contact with them.
Thanks for the compliments on the accuracy and cleaning the house. And 'likely that in my apartment there is a strong personal influence both in furnishing some choices for this is likely because it is an apartment that has been inhabited by me and still sometimes you dress because I consider my city Rome, and not created , initially, to be rented and perhaps that is highly personalized but the houses as well as people generally like or not due to their absolute peculiarities.
With good memories on my part with sympathy and affection

Dirty Bathroom

  • 2 of 5
We were a disappointed with this apartment. Although it was large and spacious it had some issues. The area around the kitchen sink and counter were dirty and the freezer in the fridge badly in need of defrosting. The bathroom was even dirtier. The walls and mirror by the sink were dirty, the wall above the bathtub has serious water damage, the tub was dirty, but most distressing were the series of dirty shower curtains that surrounded the tub and stuck to you when you tried to shower. Also, water temperature in the shower is a big problem. You're alternately being frozen or scalded. Trying to adjust the taps makes no difference and in fact ends up scalding you. In the end I pointed it at the side curtain and dodged in and out. There are some beautiful pieces of antique furniture in the apartment, unfortunately some are being ruined. Many of the chests have no handles so in order to open them you insert an old fashioned key into an ever enlarging raged hole and pull. It's a shame. Luisa was there to greet us when we arrived and provided us with information about the neighbourhood. It's a nice area of town, although a little far from many of the tourist sites. The price was reasonable and I guess if it had been clean I'd be giving it a much better review.

Owner's Response: 1) With regard to the spaciousness of the house and what is written on my kindness.
2) In about twenty years is the first time that a guest complains about the lack of cleanliness in the apartment but if during the reception, from me, as always, made Mrs. Jude had made me see what you have written here then I would have Indeed, immediately, repeat, more accurately, the cleaning.
3) To note on antique furniture it is impossible to find again the original locks.
4) The hot water had no doubt of the problems and in this case if I had been warned I would have immediately sent the technician, as happened later.
5) I've done, personally, the control of the house and everything was put in place, including replacement of the bathroom mirror.
6) Via dei Riari, the street where the apartment is located is in the heart of Rome: Trastevere and in the area of Trastevere the most aristocratic, considered by the Romans themselves of particular beauty for its scenery of the Janiculum as a background, and also very close to St. Peter, Pantheon, Piazza Venezia and many other important places as is well known.
