Curacao Townhome Rental Photos and Description

1 Bedroom, 2 Bathrooms, sleeps 4

Our townhome in this gated, quiet, very private resort enjoys a perfect location - true oceanfront (about 20 paces from the sea) with completely unobstructed views to the ocean and sunsets. Stroll from your lanai, past palm trees, bougainvilleas, the pool and palapas down to the steps into the sea - a private access from which to dive, snorkel or swim. The luxury of walking a few hundred feet to warm, calm, crystal clear water of this quality can't be overstated. A fabulous reef and sealife are just a few yards from your patio.

An additional benefit to our location within the resort - we enjoy consistent sea breezes unblocked by other buildings and never hear neighbors, dogs or traffic. All windows and doors are screened - allowing you to keep out the uninvited [mosquitos/geckos], without closing off the cooling winds. Our kitchen is very well equipped. There is A/C on both levels, hot water at the kitchen and both showers, fans, full size refrig, quality cooking utensils and much more. The bedroom has an ensuite bath, a comfy king size bed, a second large deck, and an unobstructed view overlooking the sea. Everything you'll need to relax, unwind, and enjoy - the views, the sun, the water, and your vacation

There is a lot to see and do on Curacao. You'll find that most of the development - the resorts, the homes, hotels, shops/businesses, traffic, and people are concentrated in and around the bustling, multi-cultural city of Willemstad. The city and old Dutch harbor area are worthy of a site-seeing trip, but you'll be very happy to be returning to the quiet of the west end and your townhome.

GET AWAY - Come to the west end of Curacao if you are looking for the relatively 'undiscovered', undeveloped and uncrowded part of the island - where traffic, crowds, and congestion aren't available. What this area does have is beautiful, tranquil beaches, calm, protected seas with fabulous sea life, and a healthy reef system right off shore. Two beautiful national parks are just 5 minutes away from the resort.

The water here is calm, crystal-clear, and warm. Our resort has private sea access that is never crowded. There is great snorkeling and diving just steps from your patio door - with 2 full service dive shops very close by. For variety, there are many great shore dive/snorkeling sites and five of Curacao's most pristine, uncrowded beaches within 5 minutes. Their is a sand beach an easy 300 yard swim or walk away. Several restaurants [including 2 of the island's highest rated] are also less than 5 minutes away.

The resort is gated, private, quiet, uncrowded, and safe - with friendly and helpful on-site managers to assist you. There is secure off street parking, a beautiful pool and tropical landscaping.

The Unique Benefits of this Townhome:

Our screened patio doors and front door [small but important amenities that we guarantee you'll appreciate] and windows will maximize the cooling breezes while keeping out mosquitoes and colorful geckos.

There are separate air conditioning units for the bedroom and the main level. You'll appreciate the custom blinds, full size refrig, and hot water at the showers and kitchen sink - among many small, added comforts that will make your stay more enjoyable.

You are sure to enjoy the fabulous view of the sea and sunsets from the bedroom and its adjoining deck, along with the bedroom's private bath, air conditioning, and the comfortable, king size bed w/memory foam pad.

You'll make good use of our patio furniture on both decks, the portable grill, the beach chairs, beach towels, portable coolers, and fans - and you'll find that our kitchen is well equipped with quality cookware and utensils. The Wi-Fi connection, Direct TV, new LCD, and DVD player may be valuable if the quiet becomes unbearable.

If there are more than 2 in your party, there are comfortable accomodations on the main level, including another bath complete with shower, and a separate AC unit.

Anyone staying here will appreciate our location - wonderfully landscaped with colorful flowers and coconut palms and incredibly convenient to great swimming, snorkeling and diving in crystal clear, calm water. The location of our townhome on the resort is such that no other resort buildings obstruct the sea breezes [which cool the townhome], and we are far enough from the resort's neighbors that we never hear dogs or traffic. The true ocean-front setting - just 20 paces from the ocean - offers a totally unobstructed view of the sea and our often breathtaking sunsets. There are games, books, artwork, and many other custom touches that will remind you of home - and that this is a home, and not just a rental..

Marazul is not a catored, room service style resort/hotel - It is a private and quiet sanctuary in one of the island's most beautiful locations - incredibly convenient to its best beaches and natural beauty.

Our townhome is not a large, luxury villa - It is a comfortable, clean, thoughtfully furnished, and very well equipped, one bedroom, true ocean front townhome - in a spectacular location. You will find everything you need here to have a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable island vacation.

We think you'll agree that it's more than a rental - it's a home that you are invited to share. We're very confident that you'll be happy to call it home during your island vacation.

We are a 'semi'-retired couple who live most of the year in the Colorado mountains near the ski resort of Crested Butte. We have visited many of the Caribbean islands over the past 25 years looking for a place with great water/weather/people for a vacation home. We fell in love with the west end of Curacao, and Marazul in particular. The contrasts between the high altitude alpine setting of Crested Butte and the spectacular low latitude waters/scenery/weather of 'our' end of Curacao have been everything we hoped they would be.

Steve and Linda Pitt purchased this townhome in 2010

We chose this [Westpunt] part of the island because it is much less developed, has far fewer people and cars, with calmer seas, and better diving and snorkeling than any other location on the island. The best of the island's natural beauty is found on this end of the island - including 2 beautiful national parks. All of our guests have agree that the accomodation of driving a bit further to shop is a worthwhile trade off. We also felt that the cooling trade winds were more consistent and less obstructed here than in many other areas we visited. The fresh water pool and beautifully landscaped grounds of the resort are clean and well maintained. The resort is very private, quiet, gated, with great ocean access and plenty of secure, off-street parking......and is never crowded.

The single best attribute of our townhome is perfect location. The unobstructed sea breezes and unobstructed ocean views are irreplaceable - and not to be missed.

We have spent a good deal of time, energy, and money to make this the place we want to call 'home' while on the island -- and we are confident that you will be happy to call it home as well.

We just returned from our second stay at this wonderful townhome in Marazul. It is clean and well-equipped. The owners take great pride in their property and and make sure that it is a comfortable tropical get-away for their guests. For my wife and me, the best part of staying here is the incredible views from the entire unit. From morning coffee on the lower porch, to sunsets from the large upper patio, to seeing the stars over the sea from the comfortable bed, the beauty of the Caribbean sparkles. The photos on the unit's listing are a good preview of what to expect, and the reality in person is even more spectacular.
Direct access to snorkeling and diving is just steps away from the unit. The water is warm, clear, and teeming with a variety of fish. Shore diving and snorkeling also are excellent at several beaches just minutes, some even walking distance, from the resort. There is a lovely pool with plenty of shade too.
We enjoyed cooking some meals ourselves and visiting local restaurants for lunch and dinner. When you book a reservation the owners will send you a comprehensive guide to the area, including suggestions for places to eat. Don't miss Sol Food for great casual food, a fantastic view, a the best hospitality anywhere.
We hope to return for a third visit and recommend this property to anyone who is looking a beautiful Caribbean experience.

I just wanted to say we had a wonderful vacation. It was everything we wanted and more. We arrived at around 9:00 at night and our car rental was waiting for us. Which was very nice. We were on the road within minutes of landing. Steve and Linda's directions and suggestions were wonderful. We had no problem finding the place and getting settled. We loved the setting and enjoyed sitting and having a glass of wine and watching the beautiful sun set each evening. We tried all of the restaurants they suggested and enjoyed them all. We packed up a lunch and a few beer and hit almost every beach at our end of the island. We saw the flamingos and visited the national parks. Had a wonderful day in Wiliamstad with our daughter. The Snorkeling was wonderful. The view and grounds where beautiful and well kept. The Manager was very helpful. We have been doing all inclusive vacations for the past 25 years. After this vacation that is all over. We loved the freedom to see the island on our own. The accommodations where exactly as described. Very cozy and comfortable with the freedom to cook as much or as little as you like. I cannot say enough of how helpful Steve and Linda where from day one. This was our first time booking VRBO and they went above and beyond to help us. I would highly recommend this property and in particular this unit (8A). Would love to return to this wonderful island. Home (Far) Away from Home

It may take a day's travel to get here, but it is certainly worth the time and effort. We stayed for 13 nights in the townhouse and coming back from each day's activities to the townhouse really gave us a sense that we were "home."

What really makes the dive resort and the townhouse special is that we could stay in contact with the outside world, if we wanted to, or we could ignore the daily demands of life and lose ourselves in the vacation mode. The townhouse is tastefully appointed and completely equipped with conveniences such as Wi-Fi, flat screen satellite television, air conditioning, wall and ceiling fans, and the most comfortable bed my wife and I have slept on in years! The kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator and electric cook top for stay at home meals. We found nothing lacking when preparing meals in the townhouse.

The resort grounds are simply beautiful, even more than what pictures can portray. On numerous occasions we sat on the patio and watched the hummingbirds and parakeets enjoy the fruits of the foilage while the iguanas would sun themselves on the rock wall surrounding the resort grounds. Although we spent many days snorkeling at nearby beaches, we found that the water below the resort was teeming with fish and was as clear as any we have seen in the Caribbean...no wonder scuba divers love this island-and snorkeling here was like our own private getaway! And, to complete the day, a dip in the pool was always just a few steps away.

The owners have done a great job describing their property; it is not the all-inclusive, hotel centered resort that we often see advertised online and in magazines. The on-site managers are attentive and know the island and the local activities well. So, if you are looking for a more personalized vacation with all of the conveniences of home and the freedom to "explore, go and do," then this Oceanfront Island Gem is a perfect choice.

We have already discussed returning to Curacao, and our plans will include staying at this property in Westpunt.

Quaint, quiet, romantic get-away

This townhome is located in Marazul Dive Resort, which is not a true resort by most travellers' standards--despite that word being in the title. Each townhome is a self-service rental unit, and experiences will vary as each unit is owned by different landlords. This review is specifically for 7A.

We booked directly with the owners and the process was seamless. They sent us insanely detailed instructions. These included directions from the airport, gate entry instructions, check-in, suggestions on maximizing airflow through the townhome...general "things to expect" while living at Marazul. They also gave tips on restaurants and other tidbits about the island.

7A was neatly furnished like a beachside condo--lots of wicker, plastic, and decorations with oceanic themes. All appliances, A/C, and WiFi worked consistently and everything was well-maintained. The balcony and patio are furnished with plastic/wicker tables and chairs and the balcony includes clotheslines for your swimwear or whatever. We spent more time on the balcony and were consistently blown away by the view.

Westpunt is a wonderful location if you are looking to be away from the noise and tourist traps of "town." And Marazul is the perfect location in Westpunt if you are ok with self-service, want beautiful scenery from your back patio and balcony, and want easy private entry access to the sea. The best scenery of course is only available if your rental unit is oceanside--which this one is.

My wife and I stayed a week and just got back 2 days ago and had a great time. The info we received prior to arriving by Linda and Steve was immensely helpful and spot on. All their recommendations made our stay almost perfect. The snorkeling was world class and was right out the front door. The water in front of the condo was warm and always calm with thousands of fish and we even saw turtles. 5 to 10 mins. away were multiple beaches to snorkel or hang out. The condo was very comfortable and quiet. Friendly people on the island and pretty good food @ all the restaurants. We only visited the city one day and that was enough as we couldn't wait to get back to "our" side of the island. Highly recommended.....Thanks, Linda and Steve

Car: recommended

Great on-site access to the island's calmest water with crystal clear visibility, great snorkeling and shore diving. Just a couple of minutes to two national parks and the island's 5 best beaches - w/no traffic, crowds, or noise. Requires a 15 minute drive to small, well stocked grocery or 30 minutes to the largest, American-style supermarket. Eight restaurants close by - including 2 of TripAdvisor's top 3 on Curacao.

No nightclubs/casinos nearby[30-40 minutes] - not the perfect place to come to party [unless you are planning your own very small and intimate party].

Other Activities: great shore diving/snorkeling and 2 dive shops close to the resort.

We use our townhome as a second home and work to make it as comfortable as possible including: outdoor seating and table on each deck, adding Direct TV, a new LCD TV, a memory foam pad for the bed, non-slip mats for the shower tile, non-slip tape on the tile steps, a good island map, large and small coolers, beach chairs, an alarm clock, and other small, but helpful 'extras'. You will find books, pictures, and custom touches that will remind you that this is a home. We believe that you'll find it well-equipped, quiet, peaceful and comfortable. If the quiet becomes unbearable, there is the Direct TV and a Wi-fi Internet connection. Bring your Ipod and invite Jimmy Buffet to accompany you. Our biggest sacrifice [for the cooks/chefs among you] has been to keep the electric cooktop. The island logistics of supplying gas consistently were overwhelming. The kitchen is very well stocked with quality utensils/pots/pans. You'll find everything you need for a great island vacati
