I am Nicolas, married to Caroline. We are in our 30' and parents of twins baby boys of 3 years and a 4 years old little girl. I lived in the US at Austin TX (one of my best experience), in 2001 and loved to help my friends discovering France and Paris. I have some close family living in CA near Monterey and SF area.
A couple of years after being back to France, we decided with my wife to buy 2 places on the Ile Saint Louis (VRBO #168257 and VRBO#299432). I rapidly gets outstanding reviews and I decided to help friends to manage some selected other outstanding properties with a single guideline : welcoming guest who want to have their 'home away' experience in Paris.
My main activity is to be General Counsel working in the field of the French Start-up industry. With those apartments, I am really doing what I love to do : helping guests to have a magic experience of Paris with the most charming places in the best locations of Paris.
I am confident that your experience of Paris at home will be a sucess !
The Owner purchased this apartment in 2010
Location, Location, Location.
This is very simple : Ile Saint Louis is a dream area even for Parisian People. The most exclusive and well placed area of the city. I couldn't buy anywhere else.
You can find cheaper, but nowhere else you will feel the city like on the Island !
This is a fact that the most exclusive area is the Ile Saint Louis and the most historic.
Because there is no other place like Ile Saint Louis, even Le Marais or Saint Germain des près are not as magic as Ile Saint Louis. This is a privilege to live there. Ile Saint Louis is the most exclusive part of Paris and the best place to 'feel' the city. But at the night, the ambiance is calm and magic. Walking along la Seine river with Notre Dame Cathedral as a view is amazing. And when I got back to my place, with its old beams and tiled floor in an 17th century building, yes, I can say it : i am in the heart of Paris, well in my cozy place !
Sheila and Mike : What a great property. Nicely appointed with everything you need to enjoy a stay of a day or a month.
Rita : This apartment proved to be the perfect location in a safe neighborhood and building. As a senior citizen searching for an apartment for myself, I found the comments provided by others that have stayed here extremely helpful in my making the decision to contact Nicholas to make a reservation. And after living here for two plus weeks, I can only concur with all that others have said about this apartment
Stephen and Tami : The location was perfect and it was always a pleasure coming back to a nice, quiet and safe area. You have a complete French shopping experience within a couple blocks of this apartment. The shower and bath were very nice and the bed was comfortable. All the food and drink we needed were within a five minute walk. The most important part of our stay was that we knew Nicholas was available if there was a problem or we had any concerns. He really cares about the well being of his tenants while in his property and the good news is that he has just purchased the apartment upstairs and they are remodeling it as I write this. We will recommend both Nicholas and his properties to our friends and family.
Tim and Patricia : We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at this magical place. The location and setting could not have been more central or more romantic. Just steps from wonderful shops and restaurants. The view of Notre Dame lit up at night was a postcard....would stay here again and again.
James : Location, Location, Location....the perfect spot for the 1st--but not last visit to Paris. Right around corner on this beautiful island we found the best crepe spot, sorbet shop, grocery, bakery, shopping, restaurants, and of course...the Seine--PERFECT!
Alsu and Ravil : Hello dear Nicolas! We wanted to thank you wholeheartedly for our absolutely wonderful stay at your place! The apartment was so charming and convenient and even about five steps from the best ice cream places and lovely boutiques of Paris! We loved walking on the banks of the river at night and near Notre Dame, where there were some groups playing music every night... We felt like we were in the hearth of history but with all the modern amenities. The bathroom and the bed were superb, and the concierge was very friendly and very nice! Hope we can come visit again within next couple of years for a longer stay. Thanks
My family of 5 (triplets, age 18) stayed at this lovely central Paris apartment last August for 6 days and found it to be extremely clean, quite comfortable and with a perfect location that allowed us to walk to many of our top sights. It could not have been a better experience. The island is lovely and has many quaint shops as well as a park to simply watch the boats and tourists pass by. There is a grocery store very close so we could fix our own meals or load up on snacks to take with us when we would be out for the day. The amenities are exactly as promised and both Nicolas and his housekeeper were extremely polite, trustworthy, and helpful! The housekeeper met us when we arrived and led us into the apartment and spent at least 30 minutes explaining (mostly in french, of course, and three of us who know some french were able to converse - though she knows some English, too) many of the lovely sites and things we would not want to miss. While the apartment is not large, it was just ideal for our family. I especially appreciated the tourist books that were provided. Also, having access to a computer and the internet was very helpful. Our boys enjoyed relaxing and watching television after a day of touring. Best of all, we could return to our apartment in early evening, rest up a bit and then go explore again because everything in the heart of Paris was so convenient and either just outside our apartment or we could grab the nearby metro or Batabus so conveniently and easily get to our destination . We did this one night to see the Eiffel Tower at night and it was superb. If you have the chance to visit Paris and you want a lovely apartment with an ideal location, you can be sure this is a great apartment for you. When we return, we will be sure to stay here again.
We had a great time. Apartment was clean and it is in our favorite part of Paris. Positives: perfect location, with a Parisian bar/cafe (St Regis) on the corner that caters to jet-lagged tourists by having extended hours and very friendly waiters; recent renovations are lovely; windows are double paned so it was quiet even when streets were busy; washing machine; very comfortable beds; wifi; very responsive owner was much appreciated. Negatives: Not a lot of storage space so we were kind of cramped with 4 people and luggage for 3 weeks travel; no elevator -- it was challenging to get our suitcases up and down the 3 flights of the tiny French staircase without damaging the woodwork - we arrived during a rail strike so this was disheartening at the end of a difficult trip; towels smelled moldy so we had to wash them before use. All considered, positives far outweigh the negatives for this picky American traveler.
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and found it a perfect base to explore. Beautifully renovated and spacious (for Paris), equipped with everything you need, plus housed within a beautiful, historic building. Would definitely recommend.
this apt was just right for us 5 girls on a Parisian jaunt. the beds were comfortable though if one sleeps in the living room there is no privacy. the appt is quite small for 5, but not too tight as to be uncomfortable when the beds are closed. the separate toilet and bathroom are a good design as several people can get ready at once. the kitchen was just right for light meals and the washing machine came in handy as well. it is a little tight getting in and out the door esp when the bed is open. everything was very clean and there were enough supplies, ie: tp, towels, soap, for our stay. it was nice to have wifi and a courtesy laptop. you can see the Seine from the window and hear the bells of Notre Dame, which we loved. there are a variety of food shops steps away as well as an array of shopping. at night the street/appt is very quiet. it is steps from the cathedral and just across a bridge from anywhere and v.close to both lines of metro. it is an old building which has it's own charm as you climb a narrow wooden staircase. the owner is very easy to deal with and very accommodating. all in all a charming, well located and comfortable place to stay.
Ile St Louis is a village within the city and Paris Heart apartment is right in the heart of the village. The district is not too crowded with tourists but it is a short walk to Notre Dame and the left bank and the Hotel de Ville. On the second floor, it is a challenging climb up a spiral staircase to reach the apartment with baggage, but that is Paris! The apartment is well fitted out, with a kitchen enabling guests to self cater- using the supermarket and boulangerie and boucheries nearby. Clean, a good bathroom, washing machine, all the amenities of home. We loved being on the Ile St Louis, walking around, eating in the many bistros, and enjoying the daily gelato after dinner. The metro- Cite or Pont Marie- is a few hundred metres away, so all of visitors' Paris is within easy reach. I would recommend this property for anyone wanting to experience life as a Parisian, even for only a few days. It's not for a first time visitor, and older people might find the staircase a challenge. But if you have been to Paris before, to have a view of Notre Dame from the end of the street, the Eiffel Tower in the far distance, the buzz of the left bank across the bridge, but to enjoy the tranquillity of a village, this is the place for you. Nicolas is a kind and helpful host, but he needs to expedite check-in!
My husband and I spent 6 nights in this little apartment in one of the best locations in all of Paris. The apartment was spotlessly clean, Nicolas was very helpful and attentive at answering all of our questions very quickly and we had a great stay. The bathroom is larger than in most Paris apartments and another bonus is the separate toilet. The kitchen had everything that we needed for simple meals and there is a washing machine that doubles as a dryer. There was a great selection of guides, maps and tourist books of Paris in the apartment for our use. It is in a marvellous location, with lovely restaurants, cafes, shops and a couple of small supermarkets within 2 minutes walks, as well as the most amazing icecream shop -Berthillon. Truly the best icecream in all of Paris! The only negatives to the apartment were that the pillows were lumpy, but Nicolas said that he has since purchased new pillows and that it is on the 2nd floor, up 2 flights of very narrow, windy stairs. This didn't bother us, but could be a problem for those with limited mobility.
