Review #1505934 "Incredible Family Surf Vacation"
The first thing we thought when we pulled into the gate was...WOW! The grounds were immaculate, the gardens beautiful, and the 3 car garage and large parking area were more than enough. Upon walking in the front door all you see is OCEAN! I've stayed in a lot of beach homes, this one is as close as you can get. My wife, newborn, and I stayed for 2 weeks and wish we could've stayed longer. The living, dining, and kitchen all flow into one another and are completely open. The kitchen is recently updated with a great commercial grade oven and range. The fireplace in the living room was so wonderful at night, creating a dreamy ambiance. We stayed in the upstairs master bedroom, mainly because I wanted to open my eyes in the morning and have waves be the first thing I see. It was truly wonderful. The sound of the surf lulled us and our baby to sleep each night, and the gentle light of dawn woke us each morning. No clocks and no schedule for 2 weeks!!! I surfed about 3 times a day right in front of the house, or would take the seven minute beach walk down to Mondos, a great longboard wave. The wave in front of the house was usually empty, we did have a crowd of 4 one day! In the winter the wave can get truly epic, with rides a few hundred yards long. The advantage of staying this close was being able to surf as soon as conditions were good. One afternoon in particular the wind died suddenly, the tide came up and there were perfect A-frames right in front of the house. I was in the water within 30 seconds! Because of it's perfect surf location this house is also listed on Wavecation. There is a wonderful hot tub on the deck. We had a problem with it heating at one point but the owner sent out a service man the next day and came out herself to check on it. My wife loved the fact that there was full size washer and dryer in the garage so she could wash baby clothes. My parents and another couple joined us for a few days and everyone LOVED the property. It is such a relaxing place. If you're into night life or being in the center of all the action, this is NOT the place for you. If you like sunning on the deck, surfing, taking family walks at low-tide or reading away the afternoon and then cooking dinner in a beautiful kitchen, then this place may be for you.
