We found our home on a perfect fall day in D.C. when Lincoln Park was teeming with sunbathers, flag football games, kids, and dogs. From that moment we knew that we had found our home and love the small town feel in a big city like D.C. Despite starting a family of our own we have resisted the temptation to move to the suburbs, loving the convenience of living so close to museums, monuments and all the other culture found in this great city. We hope you'll enjoy the neighborhood and its convenience as much as we have.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 2004
We came for the Cherry Blossom Festival. The apartment was close to the Metro. We walked to the Eastern Market. The apartment met our all our needs. The furnishings were complete. There was a grocery store about 4 blocks away that allowed us to grab all the other foods we wanted for snacks, breakfast, etc. Natalie and Colin were great help. I would recommend this apartment for anyone sightseeing. We would recommend anyone coming to visit the Library of Congress, the National Cathedral, and the National Gallery of Art (in addition to the memorials and other museums). The Cherry Blossoms were gorgeous. When we didn't want to walk very far we found Uber was a great way to get to Georgetown and Arlington.
Our family of four (two teens) were nicely accommodated; apartment is chhery despite garden-level situation. The kids opted for air beds after first night on foldout and found them better. All mod cons, as they say, and we loved the neighborhood. CoCo the dog does howl in the a.m. after owners leave, but we found it rather cute and helpful with rousing slumbering teens. Key item: excellent hot water supply!
Fabulous Week in Capitol Hill! Easy Walk to Eastern Market Station (around 8-9 blocks) gets you right to the National Mall. Eastern Market is a unique shopping experience and worth the visit. Apt is very very clean, efficient with all the comforts of home. Kitchen is very well stocked, and even had the basic necessities of spices, salt, pepper and some helpful items from the previous renters like Instant Oatmeal and noodles. Natalie and Collin were very easy to communicate with, and responded with helpful information both prior and during our stay. BE prepared. . . Washington is a walking city. Bring comfortable shoes.
Had a wonderful stay in this apartment. Everything was within walking distance and the Capitol Rideshare bikes were just on the corner. Great neighborhood, fun shops and eating establishments. The only issue we had is when the owners left for the day, their dog(s) howled for quite a while. But then again, we weren't there to sleep in and relax away the day - we were there for siteseeing!
This condo was everything the listing said it would be! The property was clean & well stocked with basic needs. The owners were very helpful answering our questions & making us comfortable. We chose metro ( a 9 block hike to closest station at Easter market) and Über (awesome!! Never waited more than 7 minutes for a cab) For our transportation. If you like art fairs the Eastern Market is a must see on the weekends!! We recommend the Old Ebbott Grill downtown (across from the White House) and the Chesapeake Room ( on 8th St. SE near Eastern Market) for great dining experiences!!
My sister and I stayed here for 2 months and we loved it. Natalie and her husband were very friendly and helpful during our stay. The neighborhood is excellent and we loved walking everywhere. FYI if your planning on a stay here and not bringing a car, bring comfy walking shoes! The walk to the nearest metro station from this house was about 9 blocks, which isn't bad, but it is a walk. Natalie is great at giving good directions and short cut routes. I would recommend this property if you are planning on spending most of your day out. There is a great area of restaurants on 7th and 8th street. We weren't impressed at all by Boxcar Tavern, but Tortilla Cafe and Aqua Al 2 were very good. They are right across street from Eastern Market. Best day to buy fresh fruit and veggies and breads is on Tuesday when the Amish people come and sell there food. Its a lot cheaper than weekend market days. All in all a great place to make memories.
