A ‘Sconset Gem

  • 5 of 5
I recently spent over a week in the cottage during the second half of July and it was such a great stay. As described in the other reviews and accurately shown in the pictures, the cottage is very nicely set up and well-kept and with the beach nearby, a very good way to enjoy some R&R. The possibility of short walks and bike rides, the convenience of the bus stop nearby and the ‘Sconset Market contributed to make this stay a success. Linda’s warm welcome and dedicated but not overbearing attention added to the pleasant experience.
A special note for the beautiful backyard that entice bunnies and birds alike to feel very much at home for the joy of whoever is spending time on the deck.
There is only one thing to do after being back: planning the next trip.

Absolutely Perfect

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I came here for our honeymoon and completely fell in love with 'Sconset and the cottage. The walk to the beach is literally a minute and the cottage it self is absolutely adorable. We were so comfortable there, we didn't want to leave! We spent many evenings enjoying cocktails on the little deck and thoroughly enjoying their beautiful back yard. The walk into town is maybe five minutes and transportation and bikes are all very easily accessible. We couldnt have asked for a better time on our romantic getaway and are counting down the days until we can return to this little slice of heaven.

September 2012

This is a comfortable and charming and well kept cottage located on the bluff above the ocean. I highly recommend it. We spent the last week of September here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found plenty of beautiful trails for hiking on this side of the island but could get into town when necessary without any trouble. The cottage is just above the ocean - about a five minute walk- so you can fall asleep to the sound of waves breaking on the shore, take the bluff walk out to the light house of just relax on the beach during the day. Linda is wonderful and we hope to return soon.

The perfect couples getaway spot

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I stayed at this loft cottage for one week and had an excellent stay. The reviews and pictures were accurate. We found the cottage to be very clean, well-kept and maintained with good amenities: bath towels, clean linens, basic kitchen utensils, ceiling fans, beach towels, a small cooler, toaster oven, etc. The loft ladder to the bed is easy to maneuver although should be considered if anyone has issues with climbing a short, relatively vertical ladder.
The cottage has a small deck with two beach chairs and a small habachi.
Linda, the owner, was extremely hospitable, helpful and accessible, providing tips on the town and general island logistics.
The cottage is a short walk to the beach (1-2 mins?) and we found the beach to be very private and beautiful, with virtually no one there in the middle of July.
Perfect!
The town of Sconset is very close to the cottage (1-2 min walk) and has simple groceries, post office, liquor store and great restaurants (highly recommend Sconset Cafe for dinner).
The cottage is approx 1 mile from a 9-hole public golf course and approx 7-8 miles into town, with a bike path along the main road. Public transportation via bus is very close and easy. We rented two mountain bikes as our mode of transport and biked all over the island, very manageable if that's your thing. Linda suggested Youngs Bike Shop and they dropped the bikes off at the cottage and picked them up - very easy.
We would definitely return to this cottage and would highly recommend it for someone / a couple that's looking for a low key, fairly-priced loft / bigger-than-a-studio cottage in Nantucket. It served us perfectly!

I want to go back!

  • 5 of 5
My partner and I stayed for a week in this very charming little cottage. The owner Linda was extremely friendly, easy going and very helpful. We would have loved to stay longer. We recommended this place to couples or friends who like beauty and convenience. The little village of Siasconset has everything you need a very short walk away: market, good restaurants, amazing gardens, nice beach and breathtaking sunrises (which you can see from the bedroom or front yard)! The location is an added plus for athletic people as a walking path cuts right past the front yard, there's an amazing tennis club where you can take lessons and there are great roads/paths for jogging and biking. We were training for a triathlon but had plenty of time to relax in the village.

Sweet Little Cottage on Best Part of Nantucket

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I rented this sweet little cottage for the week after Labor Day (the best time to visit Nantucket, in my opinion!). It is small (photos are accurate), but was perfect for both of us and so close to the beach that we could hear the ocean at night and watch the sunrise over the sea in the morning. The sleeping loft was especially comfortable - we both slept the best we had in a long while. The kitchen is small, but we easily managed to make dinner for ourselves every night. We especially liked grilling in the back. The living room is where we repaired to at night - a very comfortable little room where we could easily spend the evening reading or watching videos on the internet (wireless connection was intermittent). The cottage was also clean, clean, clean. The location was especially picturesque - lots of little houses with lovely gardens. It was close to the bus into town so that we did not have to rent a car while we were there. And there is a local cafe (a two-minute walk) where you can get your morning coffee and then stroll down to the beach. The owners of the cottage are lovely and made sure that our mini-vacation in Sconset was enjoyable.
