This newly built studio apartment sits over a detached garage in a quiet West Santa Cruz beach neighborhood. The apartment's private deck overlooks an alleyway. Street parking is available at the end of the cul-de-sac on Phelan Court.

Directions to '144 Lighthouse Lane' : '144 Lighthouse Lane' is the name of this property, however, Lighthouse Lane is an alley between Lighthouse Ave and Laguna St. You will not find Lighthouse Lane on a map, so please use the main house address of 142 Phelan Court Santa Cruz, 95060 to locate the apartment. Once here, you can easily find the entrance to the alley off either Lighthouse Ave or Laguna St.

The map on this website is pretty clear on this, but want to avoid unnecessary confusion.

Quiet, cozy, convenient, and everything is new

The studio is cute as a button, gets great light and air, everything is new and high-end, and the location can't be beat. You can't hear any traffic, but you can hear the sea lions barking. We walked to all the Santa Cruz must-sees, from the Lighthouse Point surf spot, to Natural Arch beach, to the Boardwalk for a concert. The charming Palajac family welcomed us warmly and Max the dog kept us company. I only wish we'd been able to stay for more than a long weekend. We'll be back!

Great Location, Functional Space

This beach house is everything you wish it would be - great location, quiet, clean, extremely functional for a couple. It's clear the owners invested in nice amenities and furniture for this place. I would highly recommend staying here.

The only reason this review received a 4/5 rating is because when my boyfriend and I showed up and followed the instructions Tara had provided, she came outside while we were unloading our car and was very confused why we were there. Even though I had payed the deposit and we had both emailed and talked on the phone to confirm, she did not have record of my stay. She let us move in, but then did not apologize later or leave a note saying we were all set. That was very odd to me and not a very warm welcome.

Owner's Response: I'm glad Suzanne and her boyfriend had an enjoyable stay and recommended the property...even with my confused greeting that deviates from our normal hospitality as evidenced by our reviews in general. The lack of preparedness and closure on that day is not our standard.

Great Location! Small, but clean and outdoor patio makes up for size of apartment. Very nice owners. We could walk to pretty much everywhere we wanted to go and it was great to wake up to sea lions barking off in distance. Our dogs loved the fenced in patio area and fire was a wonderful gathering place in evening. They also made a lot of friends at Lighthouse dog beach. My kids and I had best kayaking expedition of our lives from the pier and saw so many sea otters that it brings me to tears. They are my favorite. Kids loved location as well. We will stay longer next trip. We love Santa Cruz. Thanks for a great stay!!!

tara,bill and evan (cabana boy)-THANK YOU!!! when you stay as guest..YOU MUST LOVE DOGS!
max will be our host. he will visit you when you are settled...he come in morning once he hears moving around. bbq/fireplace/spa area is a must to use! the family is quiet and you would never they are there..rental was was rented by cindee..love it..a perfect place to make your base for santa cruz. inthe morning on the deck with cup of coffee you can hear the sea lions.i would highly recommend this unit for couples or girls getaway! thank you thank you tara and bill..RED..p.s.thank you evan and max..made it perfect!

My husband and I spent an idyllic weekend in this hidden gem. This private studio comes with a full kitchen, king size bed, comfy couch, beautiful bathroom with a great shower and wi-fi. Looking out the windows one has the feeling of being in a spacious treehouse away from the busy streets only a few blocks away. We were especially happy with how clean the studio was and how gracious the owner was when we met her. The studio is located in a neighborhood just off of Cliff Drive and one of the most famous surf beaches in the world. Each afternoon we could hear the distant sounds of the seals on the wharf. We spent hours walking in the area and all the way down to the wharf for lunch. It was great to bring our well-behaved mini poodle along and there is parking right in front of the unit. We left rested and ready to plan our next trip back to the "treehouse".
