This charming two-bedroom, two-bath lakefront home is located on the shore of beautiful Lake Arenal, a scenic 1 hour 10 minute drive from Liberia International Airport. The house is situated on a secluded 1 ½ acre parcel replete with lush tropical flowers, shrubs, and trees. The neighborhood is called Puerto San Luis and is one of the drier areas of the Lake Arenal area. Private yet convenient, it is less than 10 minutes away from the quaint town of Tilarán, where you’ll find banks, supermarkets, restaurants, and other amenities.
If you’re looking to rent a house in the Lake Arenal area, there are many choices, BUT – if you want to be right on the lake, the choices are few and far between. That’s what sets this house apart from other rentals. This property is right on the lakefront of the magnificent Lake Arenal, where you can swim, fish, wind surf, kite surf, and kayak (kayak provided). Or – you can pick some limes on the grounds, make a cool drink, and just “veg out” on the terrace, while you watch the monkeys cavorting in the treetops. From the terrace you can see Lake Arenal and from the house you can see the Arenal Volcano.
Comfortable, affordable, spacious yet cozy. You’ll have a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, blender, coffee maker, toaster and bread machine. The master bedroom has a full bath and queen-sized bed. The second bedroom has a full sized bed. There is a second bathroom, a comfortable living room that has a flat plasma TV with satellite service, a dining area with a large table, and a laundry room with washer and dryer. The house underwent an extensive renovation in 2010. If you need access to the internet, there is wireless internet.
For more information, don’t hesitate to contact us. We can suggest nearby activities such as Rio Celeste, the best kept secret in all of Costa Rica. The light blue river is surrounded by amazing rainforest that sports one of Costa Rica's most beautiful waterfalls, natural hot springs, as well as the unique phenomenon of clear water turning blue by means of a volcanic chemical reaction. We can provide real estate services as well. It will be our pleasure to answer all your questions.

We stayed at Casa Sullo for two weeks from March 1 to 15, 2015. It is going to be difficult to cover a 14 day stay in a short report for others to read in a few moments. The house is in an ideal location. It sits on a hillside overlooking Lake Arenal. The view from the rear deck is an evening paradise. We spent most evenings sitting there for an hour before sunset enjoying the view and wild life that would drop by for us to see. We had Toucan birds on five different evenings, a howler monkey one evening for an hour before sunset until he settled in for a night’s sleep just above our heads. There are so many different birds that we will never identify all the species.
We did day trips from the house to see a coffee plantation, Hermosa Beach, La Fortuna, Town of Arenal, Frog Hall, Tilaran and a weekend trip to San Jose. The location of Casa Sullo works well for easy trips to many sights in west central Costa Rica. The Puerto San Luis club restaurant is a few hundred feet away and San Jose is a 3 and a half hour drive. Super Market is 15 minutes to Tilaran. The property manager is a phone call away, and if needed is very responsive. She even invited us into her home to see a sloth sleeping in a tree outside her living room. The local people are very friendly and helpful. We never felt that we were anything but secure and welcome.
Casa Sullo is a fully furnished, comfortable two bedroom home. The grounds are lush, and fun to explore. Since we have returned home some of our friends have asked if we would go back again in the future. I answer, absolutely; we have already begun a savings account for just that.
By the way, Pat, the owner, provided a lot of helpful information on what to do and see in the area. He spent a great amount of time on the phone with us before our trip. His guidance was accurate, timely and helpful. Our take away from the whole experience is a warm and peaceful joy for the country, the home, and the wonderful friends that we made in a two week adventure that makes us want to go back. WOW!
This lovely home on Lake Arenal was the perfect New Year's Get-a-way. The house is lovely, with all the modern conveniences you could want or need. Everything was immaculate upon my arrival. The property is secure with a fence running around the entire perimeter and the garden is simply lovely. The owner was kind enough to allow me to bring my dogs and we enjoyed walking the gardens, and going down to the lake. The lake side is just 5 minutes from the house, so that was super convenient. The owner and the manager of the property were great to work with, super nice and responsive. This is a superb place to just sit back and relax, read, and watch movies, and enjoy the flora and fauna of Costa Rica. I look forward to returning to this house in the near future.
We enjoyed a wonderful time at Casa Sullo for 5 nights in February. The house was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking utensils and spices. It is located in a beautiful quiet area with lots of room to take walks and enjoy the outdoors. The beds were very comfortable and the home was very clean. We would highly recommend this rental to anyone. You won't be disappointed.
My husband and I stayed in Casa Sullo for the first week of our extended vacation in Costa Rica. Pat, the owner, was always available to answer questions (via email) and gave us all sorts of helpful information. Coryn, the property manager was awaiting us at the house when we arrived. The Arenal area is lush and beautiful. We had several visits from toucans in the yard and one visit from a howler monkey. The house itself is comfortable and an EXCELLENT value. Wonderful for couples or a family. There was a bit of a musty smell when we arrived, but once the windows were opened it dissipated. The property is beautiful. Huge back yard (with delicious lemon tree!) leading down to Lake Arenal. We felt very safe in this house and would definitely recommend it. The kitchen was large and well-appointed. Several large grocery stores are a short drive away in town. Be sure to visit Viento Fresco waterfalls. And definitely drive to the volcano. The drive alone is worth your time (the volcano was covered in clouds when we arrived there, but we really enjoyed the gorgeous views on our drive). Our suggestion to the owner would be to finish the back patio (with railings) and check the plumbing for the toilets. (It took several flushes). But overall, the property is beautiful. You won't find a better place for the price.
We had a wonderful stay in this property. The owners and their property manager were very helpful and quick to respond to any queries. The house is well looked after, clean and really well equipped compared to many we have stayed in, particularly the kitchen, which had everything we needed, including pantry items such as herbs, spices cooking oil etc, which was really useful for our short stay. The garden is fabulous and huge and the patio is a great spot for bird watching. Although not on the doorstep of La Fortuna (and therefore many of the area's attractions) we found it perfectly viable for day trips and the drives around the area are spectacular anyway! We would not hesitate to recommend this property.
We were lucky enough to stay at Casa Sullo for a month in Jan/Feb, 2014. The house was very clean and comfortable, with all the amenities you could want. Nice big screen TV with a wide assortment of videos to watch. The property is beautiful with a short walk to the lake. It is very private and secure, and ideally located for touring around the lake. We enjoyed relaxing out on the deck overlooking the lake and being entertained by howler monkeys and all different kinds of birds. There is even a lime tree right outside your door for your cocktails. Pat the owner was very accommodating and even allowed us to bring our dog and cat, which we appreciated. Coryn his property manager was a pleasure to deal with, she was very helpful and made sure our stay was great. She was always very responsive to any requests or information that we required. Thanks again Pat and Coryn. For sure go to Las Brisas restaurant, it has a great menu and some of the best food we have eaten in Costa Rica. Also check out the waterfalls at Viento Fresco, a bit of a hike in, but worth it, you can swim into and under the falls.
