Don't let the quaintness of this beach front cottage fool you. This recently remodeled (2007) home may look simple on the outside but it has all of the modern conveniences that anyone could ask for! No expense was spared with decorating, but we left the charm of an older beach home intact. Everything in this house is new! It looks like a show room for IKEA meets Pottery Barn, right down to the kitchen cabinets!
With 2 bedrooms and 1 bath, this home sleeps 4 comfortably. The Master has a queen bed and the second bedroom has a full and a twin. The bathroom is located just between the two bedrooms. We believe we used the space perfectly to house the maximum number of people, with still leaving a great deal of space to get around. There is a television in the living room and one in each of the bedrooms, for a total of 3 televisions. The house has cable, VCRs and/or DVD players (on every TV), and wireless Internet, so bring your laptop and work by the water.
Sandpiper Quay is right on the water, and boasts a large screened in porch where you can sit and enjoy the coastal breezes. What's better than having the beach as your backyard? We have provided beach towels and beach chairs for your use and there is a park-style grill in the fenced backyard. Just like others, once you stay here, you will want to return!
Some of the best seafood can be found in Carrabelle. You can go to downtown Carrabelle and purchase shrimp each morning, fresh off of the shrimp boats. The freshest oysters are harvested every morning, so be sure to pick some up, as well as the fresh grouper and other fish. Or, if you prefer, you can fish from the beach just out your back door.
This is a great little beach bungalow in a tranquil setting. If you're ready to relax and get away from it all, then give us a call! You only need to provide us with a credit card to book the home, so what are you waiting for?

The Sandpiper Quay was everything we thought it would be. A very clean, well equiped cottage on the beach. I mean your own private beach. Yes, people do walk by and by, but you have the advantage of walking only one to two minutes from your cottage to the beach. This was a special weekend getaway for us from all the cares of the world. This place served us well. The manager was very nice on our booking and the owner was nice to let us stay a little later Sunday on checkout. We also saw many wildlife, including a black bear, in our stay. My wife and I thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your beautiful cottage by the ocean.
This little house has a certain charm about it. It was comfy and perfectly located for those who want to enjoy a quiet, low key stay at the beach. The water is not as rough or clear as other areas bc of the barrier islands but it was perfect for our 5 yr old to "boogie board". We had a great vacation in the sleepy little town of Carrabelle.
My husband, 11 year-old daughter, and I had a wonderful time in your cottage. Carrabelle was a great change of pace from our usual beach spot, Destin. It was a great place to relax for a few days and the shelling at both Carrabelle and St. George was amazing. The only essential we could not find in the cottage was wash cloths. We bought some snd left them for future guests. The cottage was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. We would love to return.
We loved our stay last week in Carrabelle. It was an unbelievable relaxing vacation. The house is cozy and clean with a wonderful back porch. The house was so well stocked that we didnt need anything other than the groceries and the paper products we brought. The beach was gorgeous with warm clear water and pretty white sand. We saw tons of sea life, from birds to crabs to starfish. The houses are a little close together but everyone was friendly and quiet. The beach is not crowded at all and you can really enjoy your own space. We can not wait to come back!
Our week at Sandpiper Quay in Carabelle was everything expected from reading the reviews here and much more indeed. The little cottage had everything we needed for a wonderful beach visit including chairs and beach towels to use. We walked to beach pretty much undisturbed by anything except nature. Watching dolphins playing while sitting in a beach chair sipping a cool drink is awesome! We were lucky to be there at the same time the owner was for there for a few days and meeting her was great. It only took a minute to see how interested in our enjoying the stay she was. Felt like our house at the beach for the week. The area is full of history. We'd highly suggest a trip to Apalachicola to visit the quaint town with so much history, Go to the Chamber of Commerce for information. Also eat some fine seafood at a number of places. Do not miss walking down to 2 Al's for a great breakfast, lunch or dinner! (See there specials for a real bargain).
We've spent time at the more tourist type towns in Florida and Alabama and found the area here to truly offer a taste of what Florida was like prior to the big condos, chain stores and T-shirt shops. It was refreshing and relaxing!

We originally booked this house to share with relatives we don't see very often and combine it with a college tour of FSU for my 17 year old. The relatives had to back out at the last minute so it was just me and my daughter. The house was charming and cute and adequate for our needs. The screened back porch with the ceiling fan was especially nice and the path to the beach was less than a football field length away. Bear in mind that there is little to do in Carabelle and nearby towns such as Apalachicola but there are cute shops and restaurants in Apalachicola. Had our family been able to be with us, we would have cooked out every night, ate on the screened porch, played on the beach all day and played cards or watched movies in the evening. Because there were no other kids, my daughter was a little bored, but I personally enjoyed a much needed quiet, relaxing vacation!
