The property is located on a peninsula. The house is 75 feet from the water and has a 44' x 12' deck. The master bedroom has a private 16' x 8' deck. You will see the sunset from every window. There is an Old Town canoe available to use on the property.

Our home is centrally located between Ellsworth and Bar Harbor. It is abundant with wildlife such as fox, deer, seals, and eagles. We are 8 miles away from Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain. We will have brochures of the area and amenities available when you arrive.

About The Owner

My husband and I are originally from New York. I am a retired Registered Nurse and he was a Funeral Director. We vacationed in Maine in 1978 and fell in love with the area. We returned in 1979 and bought our property and it was truly God's gift to us. We designed our home and had a local contractor build it and have lived here since 1990.

Wonderful Time in Maine near Acadia

I'm family of four with 2 kids aged 10 and 12 and we spent a week in August 2011 at this wonderful property. Every day we went into acadia to hike. The house (not really a cottage) is right at the entrance to the park so Bar harbor is 15 mins away as is most of acadia hiking trails. The place is stocked full of everything you will need. I was reluctant to post this review as I would almost rather this place be kept a secret - I suspect others have felt the same. Thank you for allowing us to use your home.
