The name Huelani means “Opening up to heaven”. Huelani is located in the hills above Kailua-Kona in a quiet and private gated community. The elevation of this estate provides stunning panoramic views from every room.
This beautifully appointed (6400sqft) home features 4 bedrooms and 4 ½ baths. There are full bathrooms for each bedroom. There is also a half bath near the living room and an outdoor shower.
The moment you drive down the driveway, you are welcomed by the Marlin fountain bubbling. Enter the double glass doors and you will be greeted by 24 foot cathedral ceilings, French doors lining the living room and picture windows help keep the view of the Kona coastline unobstructed. The living room features 2 full sized couches and 4 swivel chairs to entertain or just to lounge your day away with a good book. You will find wonderful pieces of artwork throughout the house and be able to find many comfortable rooms in this home.
Huelani is situated at an elevation of 1,300 feet, allowing for near perfect temperatures year round with no need for air conditioning or heating. Windows of the home can be left open year round to enjoy the breezes of Hawaii.
Huelani has a full kitchen with sub zero refrigerator, gas stove, dishwasher, full sized pantry and everything you need to make gourmet meals at home. There is a dining table in the kitchen, a formal dining room off the living room, a small eating table on the covered lanai and two glass tables by the pool. When you arrive at Huelani, you may find the pantry already stocked with groceries. We can shop and provide other services at a nominal charge. Just let us know what services you would like before your arrival. We also can refer you to a chef for cooking services.
Three of the bedrooms have king beds and one bedroom has a queen bed. Each bedroom suite has a full bath, full sized closet, providing privacy for each guest, especially with large parties. Take a moment in the office upstairs to catch up on emails. Wireless internet is included.
The enclosed lanai has seating, a bar area with a wine cooler and small bar fridge, a view of the pool and cable for your relaxation. Outside there is gas grill so you can enjoy eating outside. Light the tiki torches early in the evening and have the perfect setting for sunset every night of the year.
The lap pool is beautiful and large enough for everyone to enjoy. Down the path near the pool is our Jacuzzi, tucked away in a tropical setting with a little pond, lush vegetation and a lava tube hidden in the foliage. It is the perfect spot to hide away, relax and appreciate where you are.
When in season there are avocado, mango, papaya, orange and lime trees on the property. Exploring this professionally landscaped one acre lot can lead you to any one of these trees on property.
There are plenty of linens, bath and beach towels for everyone. We have a full sized washer and dryer for your use.
This home is perfect for all visiting situations; a girls getaway, family reunion, a romantic getaway, group of friends/couples or just visiting Hawaii with the family. Huelani will be the heart of your trip. Don’t miss out on the perfect setting to your Hawaiian vacation.

I looked at other homes before I bought this one, but I didn't care for the heat and humidity of the beach areas. Being at a high elevation, you can open your windows year-round and enjoy the fresh Hawaiian breezes. I also loved the spaciousness of this home and the large one-acre lot!
With so much open space surrounding my home and few neighbors, there is a tranquility here and a 'Four Seasons resort' feeling up on the hill above everything. It seems like you're far removed from everything, but everything is close by at your fingertips, just a short drive away when you want anything. Staying here is the best of both worlds!
