Luxurious and private 5 acre getaway beachfront property with garden,gazebos and cabanas. Enjoy breathtaking deck views of the Atlantic Ocean with great swimming and snorkeling in crystal blue shallow water, perfect for children. Miles of beautiful pink sand to walk on and the large gazebo in the tropical garden to enjoy reading while listening to the sound of the sea and the wind blowing around you.

The 'Garden of Light' is a 3 bedrooms house, consisting of two independent fully furnished and equipped floors with separate entrances. The house sleeps up to 6 max 7 guests with 2 master bedrooms and 1 smaller room with 2 twin beds and 1 sofa/bed. The house is at less than 1 min walk down a private path to one of the most beautiful and private beach on the Island.

Monticello villa is centrally located on the Atlantic coastal side known as the Riviera of the Bahamas. We are in a secluded ,private gated 5 acre estate but only minutes from the main restaurants. It is an excellent area, very safe and quite. The pink sand beach is miles long, nearly always deserted and offers all sorts of different places to swim, you will usually find no one but yourselves. You can enjoy calm shallow crystal water, very swimmer friendly. Snorkeling enthusiasts will find much to keep them in the turquoise water.

Governor's Harbour is about 10 min /3.5 Miles away. There you will find grocery stores, banks, gift shops, dive shop and more. For more information and photos, please visit our website below, under Further Details.

8 Amazing days in beautiful Eleuthera

8 amazing days on this beautiful island.The house was great and had everything we needed in order to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We were 2 families with young kids (two 1 year olds, 4 and 6 years old) and the house was very convenient for everything we needed to do. Amazing beach just below the house - we must have seen 5-6 people during our entire stay. The pictures on the website represent very well what the house really looks like and the beach is really fantastic (even though the ocean got really rough the last few days and even stole our kayak, which I luckily found later ½ mile away from the house). There are 2 bikes at the house – I took one of them a few times to take a 10 minutes ride to the nearby colorful village of North Palmetto where we would occasionally do some grocery shopping. I’m not much of a review writer, but would like to give some tips and short recommendations on thing we have done while being on the island – for beach lovers (especially if you have young kids) – please visit the Ten Bay beach (10-12 minutes drive from the “Garden of lights”) – amazing shallow beach (great for snorkeling as well); buy a Grouper from the local guy in Governor’s Harbour (he comes back after fishing around 2-3pm every day) and grill it on the BBQ (the most delicious fish I have ever eaten); visit the local Island farm – you can buy some fresh fruits and vegetables as well as very nice cheese; don’t miss the Friday night “Fish Fry” at Governor’s Harbor (if you’re without young kids you will have a lot of fun); take day trips to the islands of Spanish Wells and Harbour Island (about an hour drive away from the house) – take the water taxi and then rent a golf card to walk around the Island – this was amazing fun; visit the Tippy’s Point restaurant (less then 2 miles from the house – you can even walk on the beach and get to it) for dinner (make a phone call for reservation – it is safer) . Great island, hospitable people, peaceful heaven – anyone who has a chance to visit will love it. And at the end a few words about the owner Barbara – she is the most responsive and nice person I’ve ever dealt with – never got to speak to her on the phone, but every time I sent her an e-mail she has responded within a few hours. She has explained us in details everything we needed to know and it was a pure pleasure to communicate with her. I would highly recommend this beautiful house to anyone that is seeking tranquility and peace in the beautiful Bahamas

Amazing house on a spectacular Island

I can't say enough positive things about the house and island. They have everything you need to make it a pleasant stay. It was helpful to have items left over from others (bug spray, sunscreen, supplies, etc.) as well as a caretaker to provide help when necessary. Overall a spectacular time!

Wonderful vacation spot

It was our first trip to the island, and I hope it wont be our last. There was 3 couples in our party, and we all had a great time. Del the caretaker,was very helpful. When I needed to ask Del a question about anything on the island,all I have to do was to call him on the cell phone (provided by yhe owners). The house was perfect. We saw one, person on the beach all week. The house was very clean, and the owners gave excellent customer service..We shop in town for the things we needed.We also bought fish ffrom the side of the road. This island is nothing like nassas. The people was friendly at the fish fry,We visted a different beach each day. I also recommend on renting Barbara's Suv. Having one was a must for this vacation. Hight recommend this property

Awesome Vacation

What a terrific vacation. We stayed at Monticello using both houses (Garden of Light and Desert Rose) and could not have had a better time. The homes were wonderful and inviting and the caretaker could not have been nicer or more helpful. We actually were fortunate enough to spend some time with him duing the weekly fish fry in Governors. Both houses are right on beautiful Poponi Beach and I think we saw a grand total of 3 people other than ourselves the entire week.

The property is conveniently located less than 20 mins from GHB airport and 10 minutes from Governors Harbor itself. Also very nearby are Tippys, The Beach House, Banks Rd. Deli, as well as Unique Village. Not sure you could find a more convenient location to be able to visit all of Eleuthera during your stay. This was our 4th year visiting the island and was a wonderful trip for our family.

Additionally the houses are well appointed with comfortable rooms, nice kitchens, grills and all the things you need for a beach vacation, not to mention an SUV that comes with the house. I highly recommend this property for anyone who is interested.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
