Tranquility Gate House is part of a 9.5 acre estate with access to 1000 feet of shorefront and private deepwater dock on Frenchman's Bay just 5 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Go beachcombing on our 2 private rocky Maine beaches with views across the bay to Schoodic mountain and Bar Harbor, or stroll one of the many nature paths along the shore through the gardens and around 2 ponds. There's also bocce and a croquet court and large open lawns for your outdoor activities. The Gate House is one of two cottages available on the Tranquility Estate with room to sleep seven and a playroom to accomodate children - 3 1/2 bedrooms, 3 full baths, 1 powder room, sleeps 7 with plenty of room for kids. Also available for rent on the Tranquility estate is the Carriage house ( property id # 323140) which make Tranquility an ideal place for large family reunions ! We recently stayed at the Gatehouse with 6 adults and 4 children (age 2 and under). The house was perfect for our needs-clean, big, open living space, well stocked kitchen, ample bedrooms, large backyard, and beautiful walking paths down to the rocky beach. The bocce and croquet courts were immaculate. We spent a lot of time in Acadia National Park and in downtown Bar Harbor-both were a short drive from the house but not safe to travel by bike. We would recommend this house and stay here again.
