The house, which is completely private, is a heartbeat from the center of Assisi, known primarily as the birth place of Saints Francis and Saint Claire. Assisi is also known for its Medieval castles, beautiful Basilicas and Churches, works of art including being the birthplace of the renaissance with works by Cimabue, Giotto and many others and also for its rich culture and many festivals. There are countless shops, cafés, and restaurants that boast the local Umbrian cuisine comprised of basic ingredients: olive oil, among the best in Italy, wild boar, lamb, hard wheat pasta of the finest quality and the precious black summer truffles.

Simply Magical - Perfect family holiday in Umbria

We stayed at Villa Margherita from 21/8 to 4/9 and had a wonderful holiday with our 6 and 3 year old daughters. Specifically ;
* Location : 10minutes either way to both Spello and Assisi, both of which offer magical architecture, wonderful Cathedrals/Basilica and great restaurants - Tripadvisor was our trusty guide for this !
* Appliances : The Cooking facilities are a Chef's dream, with top of the range Miele appliances and the amazing pizza oven where you can cook your own wood fired pizzas - there's nothing better. Also a dishwasher was a bonus and this was used every day.
* Wi-Fi : We did not realise the Villa had Wi-Fi and this was fantastic as we could skype friends and family and search out the next tourist gem in Umbria !
* Garden : Great pool which our daughters loved and a nice herb garden with Rosemary, Sage, Chives, Thyme and Basil all at your disposal.
* At the end of the day : The sunsets down the valley towards Assisi were magical during our stay and the wonderful night-time lighting really added to the romance of being in Italy and enjoying good food and wine.

A sensational holiday, in a wonderful villa. Highly recommended, it was just perfect !

One of the best holidays ever!

Just 2 weeks before we flew to Italy I saw this beautiful, unique villa on Homeaway.com. I got a quick and kind reaction by mail from the owner that the house was available. How lucky!
In real the villa was even more beautiful and comfortable than we hoped for. Not forgetting the marvelous view! We immediately felt at home.
During our holidays we like privacy and relaxing at the pool with a book or magazine but on the other hand visiting interesting places like f.e. Spello, Assisi, Perugia and Spoleto (all near this villa).
We daily used the ovens for making homemade pizza's or bbq-ing. The kids loved to help inbetween their 'swimmingfun'. But we also enjoyed the real Umbrien 'cuisine' in restaurants, osteria's or agriturismi in the environment.
In short this house on this perfect point in Umbrie offers so many possibilities and guarantees a perfect holiday!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
