Belize was nice, condo a little disappointing

We spent two weeks staying in condo #7, and in general enjoyed our trip- especially the snorkeling and beach BBQ trips we did with local tour companies.
The Oasis del Caribe condo block was very nice, in a decent location, and with a great pool that was perfect for kids - lots of shallow areas, well-maintained, with a few chairs around the pool. The beach close to this unit is not one that you can swim from and is not generally a place you hang out - it was a 1/2 hour walk along the beach to get to one that was safe and clean.
Condo #7 was a little disappointing - it was clean but not very welcoming. Many cabinets were locked shut, and there wasn't enough storage for us to unpack our luggage all the way(2 big, 2 little suitcases full, and so for two weeks I still lived out of my suitcase. The words "luxury" and "all amenities" should be taken out of the description here - I don't think I have really high expectations (I was in the Peace Corps and have really roughed it on many occasions). When I see "luxury" I don't expect to be having to go out and buy salt, pepper, oil, toilet paper, hand soap, replacement trash bags and other basic items. "All amenities" generally include dishwasher, washer/dryer...apparently this is the only unit in Oasis del Caribe that does NOT have a washer.
Communication with the owner was excellent, and she responded to emails within minutes usually...until she received our fourth and final payment. Then I found it was much harder to reach her and it could be days (or not at all) before I heard from her. It was only a couple of days before our vacation when she finally gave me the info on how to get to the condo from the airport.
Overall, it was a nice, much-needed vacation. But I would not stay in condo #7 again.

But sorry; your review facts are completely UNFOUNDED about my beautiful property and why do u want to DESTROY my good reputation? I CALLED u several days before ur rental period, along w. an email informing u I had a death in the family+was attending funeral in BZ, then to a wake, in a small village in middle of Guatemala (14hr bus ride) Plus I sent you the standard check-in instructions 5 FULL DAYS before your vacation date. YOU GAVE ME ACKNOWLEDGEMENT with an email. Our conversing April 6 there were 21 emails+JPegs(i counted them all)up until May16 THEN COUNTLESS MORE until your vacation date Oct 28/12 LUXURY for me is: -all amenities+conveniences right there+ALL being very clean/well equipped/fully functional -Front door is pool(no stairs to slip down), walkout patio right onto beach, can walk everywhere, no need for transportation. -F/Tday and nite persons -TV/internet/cable/AC/ALL appliances new OR perfect working order -New dishes/pillows/bedding/towels=12 large+12 med hand towels+12 face cloths PLUS 12 kitchen towels. The condo is clean like a hotel, NO old bags of spoiling food nor my personal CLUTTER for renters to lose track of their own belongings amongst There is a renters cupboard with games,books,mags.. OPEN/EMPTY cupboards or storage surfaces are:(pics avail) >kitchen=13 drawers+cupboards+8 ft eating nook+kitchen table >livingrm=1 lg wall unit+coffee table w. bottom shelf+side table w. bottom shelf >1bedrm=5ftx3ft closet w.40hangers+5ft long shelf+4.5 ft long counter+end table w.drwr >1bathrm=2 huge drwrs w. cupboard+wall cabinet >2bedrm=5ftx3.5 ft closet w. 40hangers+10 cabinet pockets+end table w.shelf+dresser w. 5 drwrs >2bathrm=2 huge drawers w. cupboard+wall cabinet There r 2 rolls of toilet paper in bathrooms/bags in all garbage pails/salt/pepper/coffee filters/3 jars liquid soap /and grocery shops within 90 paces of ur door
I inquired:NO W/D open for renters in this building unit but FREE P/U and delivery laundry service OR upon request maid will do it. The beach is similar up and down the coast; sandy/grassy patches+40paces from condo is nice waters to swim. I greeted u several X with my bubbly personality/big smiles; asking u if u needed anything? U said NO!..never once did I see u or urs smile..sorry but I don't think it was me that could turn ur frowns upside down!
