Carriage house sitting on a bluff on 5 wooded acres nestled in Alaska farmland. Inside, knotty pine ceilings and a chalet style roof line create a warm environment. Cook your fresh catch of Alaska salmon in the full kitchen. Sleep well in the full size bedroom with a queen size bed and double closet. Top/down-bottom/up blinds will keep the Midnight Sun out, if you wish. Satellite TV and WiFi Internet access allow you to keep in touch.
Outside, the view from the south facing, 2nd story deck includes Pioneer Peak and East Twin Peaks. In Spring and Fall, nearby fields hold migrating sand hill cranes and geese. A fire pit with nearby double-waterfall water feature make a perfect environment to relax and enjoy rural south central Alaska at its best.

Katie and Dale Fosselman are the owners of Carriage House. Katie, is a CPA who has owned her own firm in Palmer for 20 years and Dale is a credit union executive. We have lived or worked in the Matanuska Valley since 1984. Katie, whose grandfather ran a gold dredge in Fairbanks in the early 1900's, is lifelong Alaskan and Dale will reach the 30 year mark in 2011. In Alaska, we enjoy sea kayaking, skiing, fishing and canoeing. In the past 15 years we have been bitten by the travel bug and have visited more than 20 countries from Perth,Australia to Mostar, Bosnia-Hercegovina. We enjoy going to new places and try to help visitors have a rewarding visit to our neck of the woods.
We lived in the Carriage House for 6 months while we completed construction of our current home. Along with our 2 golden retrievers, we enjoy the benefits of living on a 5 acre parcel bordered by a Colony farm and open fields with an oustanding view. The design and amenities of Carriage House - full galley kitchen, double closet, W/D, satellite TV - that made the property suitable for a longer term stay also seem to make it quite nice as short term accommodation.
My husband and I made our first trip to Alaska in June 2013. Carriage House was a perfect base for our sightseeing day trips. Dale was a fabulous host. He gave us excellent advice as to where to travel to see the sights. Dale supplied an atlas of Alaska and brochures of the area. The apartment's amentities were as described on-line. The location was out of town just enough that we felt secluded but still close enough to town allow for ease in grocery shopping an eating out. We would recommend Carriage House to travelers to the Wasilla / Palmer area.
We enjoyed our stay here. It was the home base for our sight seeing trips. Clean, comfortable and quite.
The owner is a good host.
Very neat and clean!!!! The amenities and layout were exactly as described. The owner was very personable and gave helpful tips and insights for getting around Alaska. This rental was our main point of stay. We traveled to Fairbanks for two nights left our things in the Carriage House and came back to our things still there and untouched. We highly recommend this rental, you won't be sorry!!!! We hope to return again soon.
My husband and I found this "Carriage House" just perfect. The owner was very helpful, answered all questions. Because this was our 'base camp' to view other parts of Alaska and visit family, it was a great respite that was calm and quiet. Overlooking their well kept yard and fire pit was so inviting and relaxing. Everything was what we expected and look forward to returning in the future.
The Carriage House was very neat and clean. It was a great location near Wasilla making it easy to drive to many destinations for our Alaska Vacation. We eaven got a great picture of a moose eating Dale and Katie's trees. Would recommend this property and also rent it again.
