A BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAIN LAKE SETTING LOCATED IN THE 'HEART OF THE BLACK HILLS'

Hill City Condo Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedroom, 2 queens, 2 twin size beds,1 full bathroom, sleeps 7

'Deerfield Park Angler's Hideaway' is a beautiful Black Hills paradise that offers a peaceful setting with a feel of seclusion, surrounded by nature and wildlife. Listen for the turkeys gobbling, the bull elk bugling, and the coyotes howling. Watch as the Bald Eagle swoops down and pulls a fish out of the lake. You can't help but feel like a part of nature.. Located in the 'Heart of the Hills,' it's close to most of the main attractions. This is a rare opportunity to rent a condo on one of Black Hill's finest fishing lakes, literally 50 yards off our rear deck. 'Catch and Release' is greatly appreciated. We want to preserve this great fishing opportunity. Don't fish? Then step out back and let the panoramic view take your breath away. You will be amazed! This property is located just 11 miles from Hill City. You will travel on 9 miles of Highway and two miles of very well maintained gravel road. Enjoy hiking, biking, ATVing, Snowmobiling or skiing! They are all close by.

Come stay with us and enjoy your adventure. You will be back!!

Great restful stay!

We spent a lovely and quiet four nights in the Lutz' well-furnished condo with our son and his wife. Not only were the accommodations perfect for us, but its location made it ideal and convenient to visit all the Black Hills and Badlands attractions. Linens clean-pantry stocked-perfect!!

Wish I could retire there!

This cabin is amazing! I stayed here with my husband, our daughter, my parents, and my aunt and uncle. There was plenty of space for everyone, the beds were comfortable, and the furnishings were all updated and very nice. The area is gorgeous, the pictures don't do it enough justice! You are far enough from the beaten path that you don't feel surrounded by tourists, but you are still within 15 minutes of Hill City. We stayed at the end of July and the weather was perfect, 70's during the day and cool at night. It was so nice to have a kitchen while on vacation, there was even a dishwasher! We had some really nice evenings grilling steaks and visiting with family in the beautiful lakeside setting. I can't express how wonderful it was to sit on the deck with a cup of coffee in the morning and watch the deer walk out of the hills to drink from the lake. The owners, Monte and Diane, are wonderful to work with. Great communication. We definately plan on staying here again!

You cannot beat the view, peaceful too

I stayed with my wife and 11yr old daughter. We had a fantastic vacation, in part due to this home. The view of the lake from the back patio was simply outstanding - nice place for morning coffee or evening cocktails. The home was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking tools. Clean towels and sheets were ample too. One bath was fine for three of us, but I would think this would be a bottleneck for larger groups. The home is located down some dirt roads in the middle of the Black Hills National Forest - if you like solitude, seeing deer and other wild life, then this is your nice place to stay. There is a TV and DVD player, but no cable or satellite TV. There is no internet, and there is no cell phone coverage (a phone is provided in the home for local and toll free calls). If you want to get away from it all - literally - stay here and bond with nature and tranquility. The water comes from the lake - a bit heavy on the mineral side - we bought drinking water at the store. I also thought the bed mattress was a bit too firm for me, but I wasn't expecting a sleep number bed like the Marriott. The property owners were very easy to work with and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and my wife would like to return - this is saying a lot since she's never before wanted to repeat any of our family vacations. Me, I'm used to the Marriott and all the amenities, but I would stay here again. Hill City SD and shopping was about a 20 minute drive from the home. We enjoyed Mt Rushmore, Keystone SD, the 1880 Steam Train, Horseback riding, Custer State Park, Wall Drug, Deadwood SD, Evans Plunge in Hot Springs, and a hot air balloon ride departing from Custer. Favorite family event was probably hiking to the top of Harney Peak - the view is spectacular from 7247 feet above sea level. In Custer SD, look for the Sage Creek Grille on Main street and enjoy a lunch or dinner there - this is the only place we ate at twice. It's funny, you pay ten dollars at Mt Rushmore for a parking pass good for the entire year and you get to see four carved faces. We stopped at Crazy Horse (which you can see fine from Hwy 16) and they wanted thirty seven dollars for the three of us to see one indian head on an incomplete sculpture - my advice - just do a Crazy Horse drive-by. Make sure you see the 9pm show at Mt Rushmore too. If you see two wine glasses from Prarie Berry Winery, we left them! Enjoy your stay! Cheers!

We are centrally located in the Black Hills just 11 miles outside of Hill City. We are close to most of the main attractions you would want to see from Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, 1880 Train and many, many more. Just pick up the maps and brochures of the area at any of the tourism locations and let the fun begin. The South Dakota Dept. of Tourism has a great website so you can do some pre-planning.

There are things to do and places to see from Evans Plunge and The Mammoth Site in Hot Springs in the Southern Hills to the Historic Sate Fish Hatchery in Spearfish in the Northern Hills with Historic Deadwood and The Homestake Gold Mine in between.

Try to take in the night ceremony at Mt. Rushmore if time permits, it is truely a memorable experience. There is also the Famous Buffalo Round-Up in Custer State Park in late September that seems to be a big hit as well.

Once back at the condo, get the kids out on the paddle boat. We also have a couple of fishing poles there for your use. 'Catch and Release is greatly appreciated. A South Dakota fishing license is required. A license can be purchased online at the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks website. All fishing regulations are available there as well.
