Where and who are we?: Always wanted to experience the magic City of Amsterdam? Not interested in the hectic and the chaos of the city center? Would you like to sleep nice and quiet in a tranquil village like neighborhood? Then you have found your paradise. Fleur d’ Amsterdam is situated in the Watergraafsmeer, famous for it’s restaurants ( the Kas), and magnificent estate ( Frankendael). Only 10 minutes by bike (provided) from the hart of the City. And within a walking distance from one of the nicesest Parcs of the city. This B&B is a part of a typical ‘Amsterdamse School’ architecture house, a comfortable room, ground floor level, with a private bathroom. A warm and nice family awaits you, to welcome, inform and help you on every wish you can think of. Think of our elaborate breakfast, eat eggs from our own chickens! The freshly made cappuccino is famous already.

Then take our new bikes ( for free) if you dare! And go on an adventurous trip trough this beautiful city!

Breakfast is great!: Come and have breakfast with Fleur d' Amsterdam. Fleur is famous for her Italian Cappuccino coffee machine! ( designed in 1928). Or a mint tea freshly from the garden. And with a little luck our chickens will have laid a fresh egg for you! We will have a variety off fresh brown and white buns with freshly squeezed orange's juice. The breakfast is so elaborate that you will be satisfied for hours!

Surroundings: As said we are close to the City, but not so close that we have all the trouble!! Our neighborhood, only 10 minutes away from the center, is tranquil and quiet, green and leisure some. With little shops and bars and restaurants, with a fountain in the middle of the street, and children playing in it. On our bikes or by tram ( 4 minutes away is tram nr. 9) you will be in town in a 'wink'. But you don't need to go 'downtown', you can also stay in our neighborhood and enjoy the special meals from restaurant The Kas or eat at the Pub across the street, where everybody knows your name! ( and live Jazz on Tuesdays). Or eat at 'la Teatina', where they cook 'slow food' fresh from the Italian kitchen. Or sit outside at Cafe/restaurant 1900, and stare at the fountain. The Zoo and the Tropical Museum are in walking distance as are two beautiful parks, where numerous festivals are held in the Spring, Summer and Autumn. Be welcome, enjoy Amsterdam

A Highlight of our Trip!

We were lucky enough to stay with Fleur and her family for 3 nights. We could not have asked for more from our stay. The room was spacious and filled with helpful items like local maps and travel books, juices and snacks and a comfy bed that provided restful nights of sleep. The breakfasts provided were amazing - just hatched eggs and bacon, yogurt, cheeses, meats, breads and pasteries, fresh squeezed juice and cappuccinos. Everything was delicious and plentiful. Even more importantly is the family. These are kind, helpful, lovely people. Their sincerity and genuineness shine through. They really want visitors to get the most of the stay in Amsterdam. They provided helpful hints, tips and directions to make our stay the best possible. One thing that is absolutely invaluable is the museum passes that are provided. Not only did we save a lot of money and time with the museum passes, we probably ended up going to more museums than if had not had these "golden tickets". Hopefully you will be as lucky as we were and Fleur will have an opening for you to stay, I know that if I return to Amsterdam, I will be working around her available shedule for my stay!

Even Better Than the Descriptions & Reviews

I love to travel, have traveled in many different situations, but this was my first trip completely alone for my whole trip
Fluer's positive attitute and travel hints and directions were invaulable. With her directions, I had confidence as I debarked the plane for the train and tram. As she got to know me, she gave suggestions on places to visit and which tram lines to get there. Her special hospitality cannot be found in a hotel.
Every day was a happy day because it started in Fleur's warm kitchen. Her breakfasts were nutritious & delicious. She made Dutch treats and went out of her way to purchase gluten free foods for me.
I loved walking around Hogeweg, Fluer's neighborhood. I felt like I was seeing Amsterdam on a level not usually available to a tourist.
Everything written is true about Fleur's B & B. It's clean, comfortable and roomy. But Flelur is the most special gift.

We had a wonderful time staying with and getting to know Fleur and her family. This is for travellers who want to stay in a real Dutch home, not in a hotel or an apartment. The neighborfood is lovely, with lots of places to eat at all price levels after a long day of sightseeing. The bedroom is ample sized and the adjoining bath newly remodeled. Breakfast and conversation each morning are a delight and Fleur is a wealth of information about Amsterdam and Holland. The tram ride from the center takes 10 or 15 minutes and then the walk "home" is another few minutes. We liked being out of the hub-bub of the center city.

We would definitely return and have already recommended Fleur to friends.

A true Dutch Experience

You will feel like one of the family after visiting to Fleur d’ Amsterdam.

This little bed and breakfast offers a comfortable, home-like ambiance and unmatched hospitality of five friendly and extremely accommodating family members. Fleur, Coen and their three kids will introduce you to cultural experiences not presented by tourist offices or hotel concierges. Over the course of five business trips I have experienced: an unforgettable “Fleur-guided” tour in the countryside on a Dutch bike (via map rather than actual bike), and art/antique auction, several non-touristy neighborhood markets, unique local foods, and a host of other memorable activities. After having returned with such great stories my wife questions if I was really away on business!

If it's absolute quiet and a sterile atmosphere you seek stay at a hotel, but if you are on vacation or business and want a feeling of home, true introduction to local culture, knowledgeable tour guide and lifelong friends, give Fleur d’ Amsterdam a try.

Perfect stay in Amsterdam

5 of 5

Our Amsterdam B&B was a very pleasant part of our trip. I chose it based on the reviews and description on this site. The listing photos accurately reflected our home. The property was very well maintained and the room was clean and tidy........more importantly, our hosts made us very comfortable and were extremely generous with their advice and information about their city. Every morning, over a tasty and filling breakfast, we were able to ask all our questions from the day before. Fleur is an engaging personality with a wonderful upbeat attitude toward her guests and life in general. So, over fresh eggs, bacon, ham, huge wedges of cheese, freshly squeezed orange juice, toasty buns, cherry tomatoes, jam and excellent coffee we learned some history, which museums to visit, how to use the transit system, how legalized marijuana works and a little background about the red light district. We spent 6 days there and would certainly stay there on a future visit. Thanks Fleur and Coen and VRBO!!
