If you are looking for a care-free and fun beach vacation home, look no further ... come enjoy our 2100 sq. ft. beach house next to Channel Islands Harbor and steps to the beach. We provide you with a completely stocked kitchen, linens, towels, entertainment center, pool/ping pong tables, games, air hockey, beach cruisers, two third floor decks, and much more ... you provide the sandals and shorts. Now, prepare yourself for a great beach experience!!!

This is a couples and family friendly property.

Please: No Smoking, No Pets, No parties or weddings.

Open Kitchen & 13 ft. Breakfast Bar (2nd floor): After 23 yrs. in the restaurant business, you can rest assured Joyce and I have provided you with a well stocked kitchen. Plenty of pots, pans, dishes, utensils and storage to prepare a feast for a crowd!

*Jen-air type range,

*10 cup coffee maker, blender, toaster, microwave, mixer, .. . etc., etc.

We love to cook here ... we think you will too!

Living/Dining Rooms (2nd floor): You'll no doubt be spending some time here because you'll find: Cathedral ceilings that open to the activities on the top level. A gas log fireplace to take the chill off cool evenings. Independently controlled wireless speakers for the entertainment of your choice. A dining room table that seats up to 6 adults comfortably. Note: All furniture and fixtures are new within the last year.

Family/Entertainment Rooms (3rd floor): For entertainment you'll probably end up here. For your enjoyment, we've provided you with: a Pool Table that can rapidly be converted to a full size Ping Pong Table; A front outside deck that gazes out over the roof tops of SilverStrand and to the beach just down the street; A new sunroom out the rear deck with a built-in gas B.B.Q.; A double size sofa bed; An Air Hockey Table; Wet Bar; another gas log fireplace; Blue Ray/DVD player; a 42' LCD-HDTV; A combination stereo/tumer/amp to power the entertainment center; Wireless speakers for your audio enjoyment; Cupboards full of games, puzzles, cards, and more. I grew up in Oxnard ... my family enjoys 4 generations in Ventura County. Joyce and I currently live in beautiful Northern California but we thoroughly enjoy every vacation at Silver Strand Beach and we are happy to share our special home with vacationing guests from all over the world.

From its breathtaking shores to its diverse cultural activities, Oxnard beaches are a welcome retreat. Whether kicking off your shoes and running along the shore or swinging your hips during the annual Oxnard Salsa Festival, the city is alive with activities and events.

Just one hour north of Los Angeles, Oxnard stands as the entrance to the Central Coast and represents all that California's pacific playground has to offer.

Perhaps Oxnard's best asset is its seven miles of uncrowded, white sandy beaches that offer surfers and sun lovers a real haven. Oxnard is also a departure point for the Channel Islands National Park and Marine Sanctuary. Only 11 miles offt he coast, this remote park comprised of five of the 8 island archipelago, has been called 'America's Galapagos'.

Less than a mile from our home is the Channel Islands Harbor. Kayaking, jet skis, electric boat rentals, private yacht and sailing charters, sportfishing, Segway rentals, scuba diving and more are all there.

The Perfect Place!

We were 5 guys on a relaxing weekend vacation. Our wives surprised us sending us - only the guys - for a weekend getaway to Oxnard.
The house is everything it says it is and more.
The Location was nice and quiet. Half block from the beach.
The house was awesome. Couldn't have asked for anything more.
From the clean house, to the house being in great perfect condition. not a crack or scratch. Great kitchen. comfortable places to lounge by the fireplaces. Clean and nice bedrooms. Nice large bathrooms. plenty of balconies to hang out on or relax and have a coffee.
Huge nice grill on one of the balconies with nice table and chairs outdoors near the grill.
What better to have for 5 guys then a pool table, ping pong and air hockey.
Owner was available when I called him. Didn't get in the way or be any hassle.
Weather wasn't the greatest when we were there. I was hoping for 80's but it was 70 so we didn't really do much water sports but I enjoyed watching some people surfing half a block from the house on the beach.
Was great to sit on the beach in the morning for an hour or 2.
We had a great time at the Herzog winery not too far away and their superb restaurant.
Nice cute bar down the block if you are looking for a quick drink and don't want to drive anywhere. Neighbors were extremely nice and friendly.
I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice house for 5-6 people. Looking to relax in a great cozy clean spacious house.
The only thing I would have like maybe is a nice back yard to hang out and tan but as I said there is no lack of fresh air and balconies.

Perfect place to stay and relax!

Many thanks for the use of your beautiful home. I say home rather than house, as it is furnished and equipped more like a home than a typical holiday rental. After 2 weeks of solid traveling, it has been a perfect place to stay and relax. Also to use as a base to see LA, go to the Dodgers (beware the 4 hour journey through traffic) and to go to Six Flags. On top of this, there was still plenty of time for relaxing on the beach, shopping and enjoying the local restaurants. We were not looking forward to the flight back home to the UK, but all good things must come to an end.

It's great to get away from the hustle and bustle of the many LA beaches yet Disneyland is less than 2 hrs. away; Dodger Stadium is 1:20 min. away; Magic Mountain is only 1:15 min. drive and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum is less than an hour away!

An Amazing Get-Away

Mark and Joyce,
Thank you for making your home available to our family! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here away from the craziness of everyday life. Your home is beautiful, the beach was relaxing, and the table + barbecue were perfect for family feasts. One of the highlights of our week was a spontaneous trip out to Santa Cruz Island, thanks to your many helpful guides. We were never good at being spontaneous, so all the other travelers with boots and gear and backpacks probably found it pretty comical when a group of bikini-clad tourists with a stroller and flip-flops boarded the ship as if ready for a walk in the park. We survived a hike up a hill, though, for a pretty spectacular view and photo-op. The more adventurous among us are already looking forward to returning (a little more prepared) for longer and better hiking. We left there sunburnt and sandy, but refreshed and ready to get back to the grind.

What a great experience! I flew in from the mid-west in order to attend my son's wedding. Several of us from my family rented this house to be near where others in the wedding were staying. Mark's was a beautiful home; clean, comfortable, and with a spirit of welcome! It was a wonderful place to stay - just a block from the beautiful beach, close to restaurants and other interesting things to do. There was nothing we would have added or changed about our experience! It was perfect!
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway

Great place to entertain and hang out

We stayed at Marks place for a week with my in laws. We loved that there was plenty to do other than watch tv. When it got dark and we couldn't be on the beach we played games, listened to music and read from the plethora of magazines strewn throughout the property. There were even sand toys, umbrella and chairs for the beach. My one small complaint would be that there were very few towels and after going to the beach and cooking every night we could have used a few more. Also be sure to notice there is no washer and dryer for your personal use. It would have come in handy as we were there with a 2 month old who was constantly soiling blankets or pants. Overall I would definitely recommend Marks place to anyone looking for a little get away. We did love the small town feel of the area being we were just outside of los angeles.

When you and your family return for another vacation to our home, please find that we provide 8 large beach towels for you in the baskets under the bench in the first floor entryway in addition to bath towels in our 3 bathrooms for up to 8 guests.
