Ex-New Yorker returns for work

I hesitate to tell you how much I loved staying in this loft for fear it won't be available next time I am in town! If you choose to stay in Manhattan over Long Island City you are definitely unfamiliar with the area. When you are staying inside the the tall buildings of Manhattan the view is cramped and limited but in LIC all the romance of the jeweled city is at your feet. Stepping off the train at night, walking the half block to the door of the loft, the sight of the Empire State Building in all it's colorful glory never failed to take my breath away. If you could walk on water (over the East River), Manhattan is only 4 blocks from the loft but jump on the #7 train (which runs all night) and it's only one stop/4 minutes.
The apartment was very clean, well decorated (the owners are artists), and had everything I needed. I stayed four months and felt very much at home. At the end of the day it was a relief to step off the train and be in a real neighborhood. There are some great restaurants and very cozy bars. It's a hip and up and coming area and the owners were very helpful in introducing me to what was available. In fact, the owners were always there for me in every regard, immediately responding to every question or need. Couldn't get any better than that.
