Three couples - stayed for a week here in paradise. We loved so much about the house and the island. The management was excellent and responsive.
(Example, we forgot our cribbage board, and one was delivered later that day. :-) above and beyond)
#1 Location: perfect for treks North and South. South: Green Sand Beach (let the locals take you down if you do not have 4x4 vehicle), Volcano, Coffee Plantation sites, North: Beaches are fabulous including access points in big resorts, Hapuna Beach, Hawi and sites. North-East: Waimea, Waipi'o Valley (7 of 7), Akaka Falls, Hilo.
# 2 Accommodation: Lovely decor - not fussy, fully stocked kitchen, top notch appliances, AC, beds, linens and pillows excellent, and a separate nook with computers for searching the web - including a printer! Comfy couches, great TV (unwind and watch a DVD at the end of long day). Great bathrooms, lots of space for toiletries and good showers. 2.5 baths make it easy for 6 people to share.
# 3 Garden: Pool is lovely, warm, lighted, non-chlorine, steps and shallower on both ends for great games of catch or volley. Nice tables, chairs and shady umbrellas. The whole garden area is meticulous and beautiful. Nice for strolling and looking at birds, flowers.
# 4 Equipment: Great boogie boards, highest quality beach chairs and umbrellas, coolers.
The pictures don't do the home justice. The homeowners have provided everything that you could think of in this home. Everything you would need for cooking, luxury showers, and all the beach towels and beach equipment that you can carry. All the beach equipment is in the garage and I asked my son to get the items in the garage and he refused because he thought it would be dirty and full of insects. When he followed me in we were both shocked to see how nicely it was finished.
Customer service is the most important when renting homes in my opinion. We had 2 lights out when we were there and the management company had it replaced within an hour. I also used all the propane and they replaced the propane tank within 15 minutes, I kid you not. Communication with the owner and management company has also been fantastic.
I have already recommended this house to some friends so if you are looking for a house in Kona I would not hesitate one second in renting this house.
I forgot to mention that location is in a quiet neighbourhood 10 minutes at most from grocery shopping and 5 minutes from center of Kona village town.
This vacation home has everything and more. The owners and management company are top notch. They have paid attention to detail in providing renters with a luxury home. The house has boogie boards, beach chairs, and umbrellas for beach goers. The garage is even carpeted and is more like a living space than a garage. This is how much attention to detail there is in this house.
What really topped it off was the customer service. We had a light bulb out in the bathroom and the management company had it replaced withing the hour. Also we ran out of propane from BBQ and they changed the BBQ tank withing 30 minutes, that is what I call attention to detail and customer service.In addition to wireless internet there are two computers with monitors so families with children need not fight over internet access.
We were leaving the day of the San Francisco plane crash and our flight was cancelled and our flight out was 9hours later and the owners asked us if we wanted to go back to the house and rest no charge during that time even after we checked out.
This was a family vacation to incude three adult couples. This was my forth trip to the Islands but first for my two brothers and their wives. This property was a wonderful location for all the things we wanted to do and wanted to see. Plenty of parking for three vehicles (one in the garage and two in the drive way). The home was beautiful and fully stocked with all the linens and towels you need. Washer and dryer was also a big plus. The landscape also so beautiful and very well kept. There were also a few extra things in the garage to use like beach chairs and boogie boards. Stone patio with a gas grill and enough chairs should you entertain. Plenty of space for all 6 adults.
The Oceanview House in Kona was perfect for our party of 6. The home was beautifully decorated and well located to everything we wanted to do. We appreciated having boogie boards, chairs and even ice chests that we could take with us to the beach. We also enjoyed eating breakfast on the back patio. I would recommend this place to anyone!
Our group of 4 adults and 2 children spent a wonderful 5 days at this home. The accommodations were by far the best of any vacation we've rented. The kitchen was fully equipped with quality equipment, furniture and decor very pleasant, and the beds comfortable. And the house was absolutely clean and in perfect working condition when we arrived, something we haven't always experienced at other locations. The yard was large, quiet and had a great view, though it was a short drive to Alii Drive and all the main attractions in Kona. The only issue we noted was that there were no gates to keep kids in the back yard from wandering into the street, nor is there a deadbolt to keep kids inside from wandering out the front door.
Service was excellent. Questions were answered promptly, the manager arranged for the crib to be set up before our arrival, and the damage deposit was returned before our plane landed back on the mainland.
We highly recommend this manager and property.
