Romantic & Spacious this is the first floor unit of a historic 1907 two-apartment residence on the very top of Nob Hill. The property has been remodeled to the highest standard with new gourmet kitchens, stunning marble bathrooms, designer furniture, expensive chandeliers, tasteful artwork, period antiques, and flat screen television sets (2 per unit). This is the quintessential San Francisco experience - walking distance to North Beach, Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square shopping, downtown, Polk Street, the Marina District, etc.

Property has views of the Bay, including the Bay Bridge, Treasure Island, and Berkeley.

FREE parking is included during your stay - parking is otherwise very hard to find on Nob Hill and is usually quite expensive in this location.

This property has a beautiful private formal flower garden, including charming night lighting.

This is a very special property that found me (rather than the other way around). I have lovingly restored it to 'better than new' with all kinds of beautiful upgrades. Yet the original personality of this home remain intact - as does the original 1907 San Francisco-style woodwork & trim. I am happy to share my home with you, as the VRBO experience has been wonderful - I've met so many nice people and have enjoyed helping them make their trip to San Francisco memorable.

Fantastic Experience

We stayed in the upstairs apartment the first week of June. This apartment was absolutely fantastic. We had more than we needed. The kitchen was completely stocked; coffee, spices, condiments, every kitchen tool you can dream of. We really used this kitchen to feed our family. There is a grocery store in walking distance so it worked perfectly. The shower was also great. I took endless pictures of the decor in the apartment to incorporate into my own home. The homeowner has impeccable taste. Even the sheets were some of the best I have slept on. The washer and dryer really came in handy since we had kids with us. We also really enjoyed the garden. I took the kids down there to hang out. It is fair to say we used every inch of this apartment and would highly recommend it to other travelers. It was a wonderfully comfortable, stylish place to be.

A great family holiday!

We made this trip with our two adult children and had an excellent stay. The location is fantastic and central. The suite is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and appointed with everything you will need for a great stay - not to mention an "oasis" of a garden for your morning coffee or afternoon cocktails. As "foodies" we found the kitchen was also well-equipped and stocked with everything we needed including herbs, spices, and many condiments. 

One of the important factors for us, was choosing a central location that had great access to transit, or was walkable when we felt like it. This definitely filled those requirements. For avid walkers you can get to Union Square, North Beach or even Fisherman's Wharf by foot. Just as easily catch transit back up (or down) the hill. James has parking available so we rented a car which allowed us much more extensive exploring making our week even more fun. James provides a very comprehensive set of "traveller's notes" that are a great aid for first timers or seasoned San Francisco visitors.  

James was a wonderful host, the location of his home is perfect, the accommodations–beautiful and everything we could ask for. It is every bit as nice as the photos show and met all our expectations. We look forward to coming back!

40th Birthday Celebration

The home is great, has everything you need, is newly renovated and an excellent location. My wife and I lived in SF for several years and this flat was perfect for our trip back. James is super helpful and also very respectful of your privacy. We will be staying at this home on future visits to SF.

You are right - both units in this building a very private. I have even had guests that I have never seen, which always surprises me when that happens (I always try and stop by and say hello when I am in town). And we are lucky to have a quiet building too. There are no other units that "touch" the two units in my building - a rarity on Nob Hill. Thus, you don't hear any neighbors - ever! The two units themselves are very well built - so we are lucky to have such a quiet oasis in the big city. I look forward to your next visit. James

Great location and accommodation

Our accommodation was a great central location, it was very clean.
The kitchen had any imaginable requirement taken care of.
The details left by James on local attractions / food / coffee was excellent and certainly a real value add!
We would certainly stay here again.

Beautiful and Relaxing Space in San Francisco

We just got back from our trip to San Francisco and one of our favorite things about it was the Nob Hill residence. It’s such a beautiful old house in the middle of the city and it holds anything one can need. Being a lover of older homes, staying here was a treat. He has beautiful architectural details in the wood trim, hardwood floors, and marble bathroom with a really cool claw foot tub. It was very nice to have laundry, lots of closet space, and a kitchen. James recommended many local stores to go to and we bought breakfast items and had a leisurely breakfast overlooking the courtyard. Transportation was made extremely easy because of the location of the house and also having a free parking spot. The buses were easy to find/board from Clay St, Chinatown was literally just a walk down the street, and being able to drive around town was completely necessary for this pregnant lady ? After a long day, it was really relaxing to be able to sit in the media room and watch TV on the big screen (and maybe get a foot rub, a pregnancy must). James is absolutely wonderful to work with and literally is the best homeowner I have ever dealt with when renting for our vacations. He has such a plethora of knowledge about the city and his recommendations are priceless. I really enjoyed the driving tour and saw much more of the city than I think I would have if I had relied on public transportation. He is incredibly easy to communicate with and does everything to help make your trip as enjoyable and safe as possible. We would love to come back and would no doubt stay here again.
