Aloha Folks,

Tina and Ted Tiki here to tell you about our favorite place in Maui...The Whaler unit #656 on Kaanapali Beach. Be sure to click the link below to look through our full photo album on Flickr. In the meantime, here are a few things that make this unit stand out:

- The amazing view from the lanai. Unit 656 faces the ocean AND the beautifully landscaped courtyard between the two Whaler buildings. On the lanai, we like to enjoy a glass of wine for sunset or just take an afternoon nap.

- The convenience of having a full kitchen and washer and dryer in unit. The kitchen helps us save money on meals (a Safeway grocery store is just a couple miles away) and the in unit laundry is helpful for keeping towels and linens clean and also for taking care of that BBQ stain on your white t-shirt. There also is a gas grill on the property ready to be fired up on a moment's notice.

- The ability to sleep up to four people by making use of the pull-out couch. The bedroom is entirely separate, but the living and dining room are attached---making it easy and comfortable to rent the unit with two couples or a family of four.

- The large amount of free amenities provided in this unit. There is free wireless internet (and a desktop computer, if you don't want to bring your laptop). The unit also has snorkel and tennis gear available for your use. Tennis courts are on The Whaler property and although they don't provide golf gear, there are golf course within steps of the property.

And, like all units in The Whaler, guests of 656 have access to all the property amenities, like the gym, sauna, spa, pool and hot tub and on-site parking.

About The Owner

Hi! We're Bill and Maryann Beckham--owners of unit #656 at the Whaler. We're both born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. We've been lucky enough to travel quite a bit in our life together and agree that we love our time in Maui the most. Our favorite aspect: the view from the lanai (especially in the winter months where we can see whales playing in the water)! We have two daughters (and a son-in-law). Our oldest, Ashlie, lives in Colorado and says the only thing close to the beauty of the Rocky Mountains is the view of the Pacific from #656. Our other daughter, Mandy, and her husband, Jeff, live in Chicago. They love to vacation in Maui to take a break from their busy city life (and get away from those Chicago winters). We are so happy and proud of our unit in The Whaler and know it will be a perfect vacation spot for you too! And by the way, our profile picture is our family cheering on the USA women's beach volleyball team in the Beijing Olympics!

Aloha, we had a great time staying at Bill and Mary's condo. The location in Kaanapali beach is excellent with the Whalers village shops and restaurants right next door and the beach just steps outside the door. The grounds of the Whaler are very well maintaned and we couldn't be any happier than we were to stay at Whaler #656! The condo has a great lanai that provides a perfect spot to relax, take in the incredible oceanfront view and sunsets. We enjoyed having a full kitchen to prepare meals a few meals that we were able to enjoy on the lanai and having a washer and dryer in the condo was great. Snorkeling at Black Rock, Paddleboard rental on the beach were also great. We renewed our wedding vows on the beach at sunset so it couldn't have been any more perfect!!!

First time back in a while

We had not been to Maui since before our just-turned-6-year old was born, but we remembered we loved the location of The Whaler. We feel so lucky that we were able to book this wonderful condo. The fact that it is equipped with the extras like boogie boards, children's sand toys, wireless, washer and dryer, DVD player and other basics that a family needs makes everything even more perfect. We are busy middle-aged professionals who don't get many chances for a vacation. We appreciate all that your family and The Whaler Staff did to make this a wonderful break. We hope to be back. Thank you for a welcome respite from the Boston winter.

What a wonderful time!

Aloha! We had a great time at Bill and Maryann's condo. We came to spend our anniversary and fell in love all over again. Taking time to be together and experience this beautiful island will give us memories forever. The beach walks, dinners out, sunsets on the lanai - all too fantastic for words. Be sure to check out DT Fleming Beach, along with the whole drive north on Hwy 30 - just as fun as Hana. Biking down Haleakala at our age made us the oldest doing it, but we were glad we did (without any broken bones). #656 HAS THE BEST SUNSET VIEWS EVER!!

Can you describe perfection?

I'll try. This was our first time in Maui and it was quite the experience. We rode in a helicopter (which was absolutely beautiful and just amazing) for an hour. Swimming with the fishes "literally". I saw the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life, including seeing some turtles. (OMG!!) To make things even more spectacular, the view from your condo was just superb! Some of the family doesn't get much chance to vacation and this was absolutely perfect. Everything was amazing and everything was enjoyable. We loved everything about your place. To top everything, we watched your DVD of Forest Gump and then went to Bubba Gump's. Some of us even got TATTOOS!!

Beats Chicago in the Winter

Aloha! We had a wonderful time in Maui. The first part of our trip was spent at the Royal Lahaina Resort on the other side of Black Rock. It was great, but The Whaler and your beautiful condo were so much more comfortable and relaxing. During our time here we watched the sunrise above Haleakala and then biked down. Ziplined with Flyin Hawaiian, snorkeled at Black Rock and at Big Beach where we saw turtles! We couldn't get enough of the Ahi tuna here. Sansai was incredible. We can't say thank you enough for letting us stay in your beautiful home. The view is amazing and we loved hearing the waves as we fell asleep each night and as we woke each morning.
