SUN, SAND & SURF
The unit is located on Playa Venado, within 50m (150ft)of the high water mark. Playa Venado is one of a handfull of beaches that has received for the past 7 years the coveted 'Blue Flag' designation, the highest standard for quality achievable as determined by the Costa Rican authorities.
Relax in the comfort of the large well appointed lanai overlooking the beach and watch the constantly changing seascape with a 120 deg vista. Bask in the gentle, warm, dry breezes as you watch pelicans soaring in formation over the beach then diving for lunch. The secluded 1 1/2 km Playa Venado beach calls out to be walked at low tide to search for sand dollars and seashells during the day.
If the timing is right at night, you might happen upon a giant Leatherback or Olive Ridley sea turtles coming on shore to nest. Sixty - ninety days later you might come upon and help the baby turtles out of their sand nest and help them dash to the relative safety of the sea. If there are no turtles, stop and gaze at the canopy of stars, the Milky Way, Big Dipper, Little Dipper, Southern Cross, Cassiopeia, and thousands more as they twinkle over head while your feet are caressed by the warm ocean waters below. Bonfires at night, sand castles during the day, snorkeling on the black lava reef just in front...lots to do on and around the beautiful beach.
Inside, enjoy the well appointed modern, fully equipped, kitchen with big island, great for gourmet entertaining or prepping an intimate dinner for two. Large wrap around windows bring the sea to you as you linger inside.
The newly renovated decor features rich Cristobal a local wood, in the kitchen and all the baseboards, marble on the floors, comfortable rattan furniture, modern window treatments and lovely local art pieces. Each bedroom has it its own air conditioner and ceiling fan to ensure your sleep is comfortable regardless of what it is like outside. High quality linens add to the enjoyment. Both bathrooms have been renovated in the same style as above.
Unit #3, is part of a small 18 unit condo complex that has a large 25 m pool and tastefully landscaped inner court yard with a variety of palms and flowers which attract a number of colorful birds. Comfortable chaise lounges and chairs make for great sun worshipping space or even more decadent, lay about in the pool in our floatees. A built in pool bar is great to sit at to watch the magnificent sunsets and even,if you’re lucky, catch a fleeting glimpse of the elusive 'green flash'.
There is a full time English speaking caretaker to help in emergencies and the English, Spanish, German speaking property manager for unit #3 lives a few minutes away. It is a safe, gated community with 24 hour guard coverage.

Sun, sea and golf in a quiet, laid back, rustic, eco-friendly environment, in a very stable country with a great climate, is what attracted us to Las Brisas, Playa Junquillal, Guanacaste, and Costa Rica. Playa Junquillal, a small, laid back, tranquil commmunity of only 100 full time residents that swells to 200 during their summer...Dec to March. Although off the tourist trail, it is just over an hour away from the closest international airport, Liberia, with lots of airlines arriving from multiple US, Canadian and European destinations. You can keep yourself busy every day or just soak up the sun and read that pile of books that have been calling to you for months. The weather is ideal 85 degs F +- 5 degs, /29 deg C +- 2 deg, with no rain from mid Dec to mid April. Typically, the humidity is around 40-50%, with warm, dry, winds blowing offshore during the early part of the day ...very pleasant and it helps set up the waves right off shore for surfers. In the late afternoon, the cooler breezes blow on shore.
The abundance of flora and fauna makes this a bird watchers haven. Zip lining; rafting; kayaking; mud baths; thermal pools; volcanoes dormant and safely active; trekking by horseback; mountain biking; history and culture tours; river expeditions; sunset cruises on catamarans; golf; tennis; offshore fishing for tuna, snapper, and sail; night life and shopping; are available for 1/2 or full day trips. If golf attracts you, a challenging Mike Young designed course at Hacienda Pinilla, is 30 min away with special pricing for unlimited family weekly play.
The new Supermarcado in Junquillal has most food stuffs, but if you need some harder to get NA/European foods, Tamarindo or Santa Cruz, both only 40 minutes away, have bigger stores with greater variety.
There is an array of great restaurants within 45 minutes of the condo...local Tico and upscale foreign run places cater to most palates at reasonable prices. The local watering hole, Adrianna's, is great beach bar to stop at sunset to have a cold Pilsen or Imperial. Meet the locals, Ticos and snowbirds, and find out more about the attractions of Playa Junquillal, new restaurants, or new spots to visit.
Great place to spend time on a relaxed environment. Beach is almost empty and views are incredible.
Sunsets are amazing.
We loved this place! There are a lot of wonderful things about this condo but the very best is the view of the beach and ocean from the deck. It is stunning! You can sit and listen to the surf, or watch the tides rise and ebb as people ride by on horseback, and dogs play in the waves.
Las Brises is a great location and beautifully maintained. The lovely pool area has lots of chairs and is surrounded with flowering bushes and palms. It is kept spotless by great staff. There are only 18 units and this one is the prime location – right on the end with a wraparound ocean view!
The condo has all the latest conveniences – including a wine cooler. It's tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen is really well equipped. There is air conditioning, but since there is always a nice breeze, we found we seldom needed it. The condo is excellent in every respect.
The manager, Barbara, gave us a lovely warm welcome and showed us everything and answered all our questions. We had only one very minor issue at the condo during our stay and it was fixed in 20 minutes! Owner was excellent to deal with.
Everyday we walked for miles along the beautiful sandy beach and saw very few people. It was so private and serene. Gorgeous!
Everyone we met at Las Brises was friendly and helpful. It's a great community.
The setting is very rural, yet surprisingly there are some great restaurants near by. We especially enjoyed Mundo Milo and Guacamaya Lodge. The best grocery store is in Tamarindo (40 minutes) and it has pretty much everything you’d find at home.
We highly recommend this condo and give it Five Stars! We would gladly return.
This is our third time in Costa Rica. This condo was beautiful and the ocean view was amazing. What you see on line is what you get. The other residents were very helpful with restaurants to go to and where to get groceries. The only down fall we would say is renting a car cause everything is so far away so it was an added expense. We enjoyed the private beach and the pool. We would recommend this condo if you want relation and privacy. It's all worth it
Our first trip to Costa Rica - the condo was easy to access.
Once you are there you are treated to your own beach that doesn't seem to end. Facing west, amazing views of the ocean await.
Other residents are welcoming and provide great suggestions for activities and favourite restaurants.
Unlimited activities are an easy car trip away - golf, fishing, canopy tours, surfing, sunbathing, swimming in the ocean or the condo's own large pool.
You won't be disappointed in this recently updated condo - the owners have thought of everything - enjoy!
We stayed March 2014 and it was absolute paradise. The condo was exactly as shown in the pictures; beautiful, well maintained and had everything you could want. The area is very private and at times we had the whole beach to ourselves. John was very easy to deal with and had tons of suggestions for the area. They even greeted us when we arrived! We loved to enjoy the sounds of the ocean while relaxing on the patio and taking in the beautiful view. We had our children with us (9 & 11) and did find some of the other residents to be concerned that they followed the strict rules and were quiet. Not too much of an issue and wouldn't dissuade us from returning. Make sure you participate in the turtle release program in Playa Junquillal, it was wonderful. We will be back.
My husband and I stayed at this beautiful condo on our honeymoon. The condo is an end unit and practically on the beach. We really enjoyed walking on the beach, it was so private, the only life form we saw was a dog and small sea creatures, it was like our own private beach. The balcony was so relaxing with the roaring waves and sounds of nature. We would go back and stay here in a heartbeat...
Turtle watching right on the beach in front or an hour down the coast. the best season is from Dec. to Feb. WWF has a turtle management site on Playa Junquillal.
