We had a had a wonderful time.
We wanted a genuine tropical rain forest experience and that is what we had. We really enjoyed the house, the neighborhood, and the town of Gamboa. This is not a high end time share condo, it is a home whose owners choose to rent out when they are absent. This is what appealed to us.
I am a birder and I was in Heaven. The home owner has several bird feeders. We would fill them with fruit and watch the birds literally flock. We did not see monkeys at the house but did in the area. The Pipeline Road is a couple miles away and was definitely all its billed to be. The Gamboa Rainforest Resort is a mile away. The resort has an activities desk that provides a wide variety of offerings ranging from fishing outings to birding guides to Monkey Island trips. The restaurants at the resort are okay but expensive. We enjoyed the lunch trucks in Gamboa, a good Panamanian meal for a couple of dollars.
We would definitely rent this house again.
Owner's Response: We are so glad you enjoyed your time in our Gamboa home. This home is truly a Birder's paradise with wild birds flocking to the deck daily. Jose's lunch truck is a great alternative to the the expensive hotel restaurants, and the Panamanian "Comida del Dia" (daily special) is an excellent way to sample genuine Panamanian cuisine for a couple of dollars. This home in Gamboa is also a great home base for longer trips to the beaches of the Pacific like Pedasi and Venao and the Caribbean coral reefs of the Atlantic. There is so much to explore in Panama, we hope you and your family return soon!
