I’m a 4th generation Chicagoan. Although I live in the western suburbs my roots are very deep in the City of Chicago going back to my Great, Great Grandparents on my mother and father’s sides of the family and all my siblings. I love Chicago. My current home Glen Ellyn is about 30-minutes west of Chicago. I am Vice President of our Family owned heating and air conditioning company in Schaumburg Illinois.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2002

Because of it’s Historic Swedish Neighborhood and the Vintage homes.

This home is unique because of its vintage character from the early 1900’s and friendly neighborhood. Being on the second floor you get privacy from the tree lined street. You can admire the view while out on the front balcony or sit in the back sunroom looking out to the backyard. This location is very accessible to downtown Chicago and the walk is less than 2-blocks to the heart of downtown Andersonville.

We just returned from a week vacation from Chicago and thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The owner was extremely responsive and available for any questions, prior to, and during our stay. This was a great option for our family to enjoy relaxing after a day of sightseeing. We love the Andersonville neighborhood with the fabulous food (Middle Eastern Bakery, Swedish Bakery, Svea) and even enjoyed the ease of taking public transit to get to other places in the city. I recommend this neighborhood and VRBO!

A warm home in a cold place

We stayed in this cozy home during our trip to Great Lakes for our son's Navy Boot Camp graduation. We came from warm sunny California and were taken back by the chill of Chicago. This home was very warm and cozy inside and we loved that we had the garage entrance where we could park the car and stay dry. After my son's graduation he just wanted a home cooked meal and a place to just hang out and this place provided us that. Paul, the owner was very accomodating and the place was very clean and comfortable. If we ever come this way again we will stay here for sure!

Home away from Home

My husband and I stayed for a week in October 2013 and the apartment was perfect. It is even nicer than it appears in the photos. We loved that we had access to the garage as well. Even though it was just the two of us traveling we chose this apartment because it was less expensive yet nicer looking than some smaller ones in the area. There is more than enough space for larger groups to feel at home but I would also recommend for couples to check it out as well.

The apartment is huge and well furnished and everything was spotlessly clean. We are planning to move to Chicago in a couple of years so we really wanted to have the experience of living in a neighborhood which is exactly what we felt. We cooked a few meals in the apartment and also walked into Andersonville and Lincoln Square to eat and shop. The kitchen is fully furnished including coffee and other necessities. The only drawback is that you have to do the dishes by hand, but really that is not a big deal.

Public transportation is ample and easily accessible - we never felt the need to use our car after we arrived. We went down to the Loop and Magnificent Mile area several times and getting around was easy and fast. Unless you want to visit museums or other attractions everything you need is in the immediate area. Andersonville has a plethora of restaurants, bars, coffee shops and stores and everyone in the area was so friendly. We were on a first-name basis with several of the neighbors before the week was out.

The owner was exceedingly accommodating to our needs and very easy to work with. He responded to my initial inquiry the same day and was always quick to respond when we had questions. I originally booked from Saturday to Saturday but a few weeks prior to our arrival needed to change dates to Friday to Friday and he happily changed the dates for us at no charge.

I highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone.

Great Stay in Andersonville!

We had another great stay at this apartment in Andersonville. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays which added such a special touch and since we were in town to celebrate Christmas with our daughter and son-in-law who live in Andersonville, it was perfect! Just as before, it was exceptionally clean and comfortably stocked. We enjoyed being able to park our vehicle in the garage and did not even have to drive anywhere with all the transportation options available and the close proximity to shops, bars, and restaurants. If you want to experience Andersonville and Chicago like a resident, you won't be disappointed with this apartment.

This apartment was great! Comfortable, Clean, Convenient - it gave us a real feel for Chicago area. Four of us stayed in it as we were in Chicago for our son's wedding at Kitchen Chicago. We felt very much at home. We loved the neighborhood, the garage was a big plus. Andersonville had great places to eat and shop and so cute ! Also was easy to get to downtown. I would not hesitate to recommend it highly and to stay again!
