Living in Paris myself, I thought of Homeaway when I had to find a place for friends visiting from Chicago, on a trip mixing business and pleasure. The place would have to accomodate the parents + their daughter and husband. Quite a tricky challenge which turned out to be fun, and a real success. Of course, I visited several places but none had the right mixture of perfect location, safe surroundings, very, very lively streets around. Every detail in the appartment had, obviously, been carefully thought. It beats most hotels I have used in the past.
The owner, Elizabeth, is a lady with taste and one can feel it the minute you enter the place. My friends were delighted and truly enjoyed their stay in Paris.
Everything worked perfectly well : kitchen, bathroom, Internet etc. The place was quiet and spotless. They even invited me for diner and I could check by myself that the descriptin was not accurate : it is better than what I expected.
During their stay they visited Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, of course, and many other sites, all within 30 minutes or less from the appartment. The younger ones loved the Catacombes, and its freaky atmosphere, but they mainly enjoyed the numerous side walk cafés on Rue Daguerre where they adopted the French attitude of doing nothing but watch passers-by while sipping a glass of wine.
I wanted to post this review to say how satisfied (and relieved) I was and so were my friends. I will use this appartment again if the need arises.
