Watch the sun set long shadows across the tannic-black waters of the Edisto River...behind the serene green of tupelo gum and bald cypress, just a half-Kile downstream from Givans' Ferry State Park. All the amenities you'd expect of a 2nd home, elevated on pilings, for an even grander view over the 12-foot embankment, which is spanned by impressive dock complex. 2 sit-on-top kayaks provided...more available upon request. Full details for several pre-planned kayak trips. Just upriver, paddle through the entrance to 2 huge bald cypress swamps, (4-hole & Indian Field). By car, only minutes away from the National Audubon Society's Francis Beidler Forrest. 1 hour drive to Charleston's historic district. 1 hour and 15 minutes to the beaches or to Kiawah Island. Re-create by relaxing in the Pawley's Island hammock with a good book and enjoy the river's breeze! Wireless Internet provided.

Activities you recommend doing? : There are 2 kayaks, horseshoes, croquet, bad-mitten, and floats with pump down under the house. Also, going toward Colleton County on Hwy 61 on your right, there is a quaint little restaurant/grill down a dirt road on your right. It is called Bee City (look for the sign) and the petting zoo is tremendous for kids---of all ages! They have good food, lots of info on bees, their products (for sale) and antiques memorabilia on the walls.

Going into 'downtown' Ridgeville, you'll find Vaughan's General Store and hardware-- right across the street from the original Dukes BBQ.

Free Carriage Tours; Unlimited Kayaking:: Please advise us whether you intend to take advantage of the FREE horse-drawn carriage tour when you confirm your reservation. Tours are about 50 minutes and normally cost $22 per person. Also let us know if you would like more than 2 kayaks, and we will try to accommodate your request, based upon availability.
