Capture the bohemian flavor of the California Central Coast in this recently renovated Norwegian-inspired studio cabin perched on a hillside in Carmel Highlands. Languish on the porch and drink in tranquilizing 180-degree ocean views, smell the roses and watch the birds flit in and out of the oak trees. Built by master craftsmen, the cabin displays artistic touches throughout, including a beach-glass and found-object mosaic in the shower, colorful hand-carved doors, and a sculpture made of natural materials scavenged in Big Sur. The well-equipped kitchen includes a full refrigerator, stove/oven and microwave. Two people can live comfortably in this magical Lilliputian space. A pullout couch provides additional sleeping (the queen bed can be screened for privacy). This is the perfect place to finish a creative project or become inspired to start one.
WiFi available for your computer, as well as a TV with DVD player now offering cable access. Binoculars and telescope are provided. The cabin has a porch with a table for two to enjoy a meal. If you don't wish to dine in, the Highlands Inn with its world-class restaurants is within walking distance. Although you may want to just stay home and relax, a short drive will find you at Point Lobos, Monastery Beach and Big Sur. A hot tub, with amazing ocean views, is available. Information on local sights and areas of interest and a bottle of sparkling cider will welcome you when you arrive.
Additional Rate Details and Rental Terms.....
* 10.5% County transient occupancy tax applicable to base rental fees if rented for less that 30 days.
* Minimum stay for July and August 2013 is 30 days until further notice.
* Non-refundable cleaning fees are quoted separately from rent: $125 for any length stay, plus an additional $50 for any length stay if sleeper sofa is used for a child.
* Stays of 30 days or more require mid-stay cleanings every two weeks that you will be responsible for scheduling with our Vacation House Manager assigned to the rental and paying cleaners for directly at the time each cleaning is performed at the rate of $25/hour. This is over and above the cleaning fee itemized in your contract.
* Rates are based on 2 adults and 1 infant/child. If 3-4 adults, add $25/night or $100/week.
* Accidental, Loss and Damage Insurance $55 instead of security deposit (covers up to $1,000 unintentional damage to house or its contents but does not cover negligent abuse or neglect)
* Credit Card number must be on file for security against any damages should damage be due to abuse or neglect and are not accidental in nature. Guest would be responsible for any uncovered damages.
* Cancellation Policy: If you cancel 60 days or less before your arrival date, you are eligible for a full refund only if we can re-rent the property for the same dates and rental rate less the $150 administration fee and any bank or PayPal fees incurred by the owner. If you cancel 60 days or more before your arrival date, you are eligible for a full refund of the rental amount less the $150 administration fee and any bank or PayPal fees incurred by owner. * PG&E gas and electricity are paid by guest for rentals of 30 days or more.
* Full payment is due at time of booking if booked less than 60 days prior to arrival date.
* If booked more than 60 days in advance of arrival date, 50% of total amount is due to secure reservation with balance of total due 60 days prior to arrival date.
* Access information and directions will be provided once payment is made in full.
* This is part of a larger estate - the main house is in front. Please be aware of this if you have someone in your party who is unable to climb stairs easily or inquire about other rentals we have that are on the ground floor.
* 2 night rentals are subject to owner's approval unless it is a Last Minute Special.
* Last-Minute Specials!! $50 discount per night, depending on number of guests, if booked within 7 days of arrival, subject to owner's approval. “Minimum night stays” can also be waived.
