Our comfortable cottage with its spectacular waterfront view is waiting for you. Whether you are traveling to Kalamazoo on business, visiting Western Michigan University for its many events, or just looking for a close to home retreat, this is a perfect choice for your accommodations. The cottage offers spacious rooms, with two decks overlooking beautiful Bankson Lake, and a 60' beach area. The unique corner lot offers a second view of 'Little Bankson', an undeveloped area where wildlife abounds. Campfire area w/wood supply so get the s'more supplies ready! A sandy swimming area makes it a great place for the kids, or for just floating around. The surrounding vineyards and orchards provide a quiet ambiance and a local charm.
Additional Information: There is plenty of sun but also ample shade to keep you cool on those hot summer days. The immediate area boasts vineyards and a quiet setting. A fishing row boat is included, or fish right off the dock (and the fishing is great - walleye, muskie, and bluegill). If you are bringing your own boat or jet skis, the public boat launch is 1/8 of a mile down the road.
This is a great place for families to reconnect and spend some quality time together. I will be happy to help you with any information you need to help make your trip memorable and fun. Two couples could also easily share the cottage and would have separate bathrooms and room for privacy.
For those who may be traveling to the area on business, we offer a unique alternative to hotel accommodations & perhaps you can bring the family along!
We stayed in this property the weekend following Christmas as place to slow down and enjoy our time together. You know, do puzzles, play games, have conversations. It also served as a jumping off point for skiing for a day as this is what my kids love to do for Christmas in lieu of the traditionally stuffed under the tree scenario.
We are a family that has to live on a budget so I was looking for something affordable but wanted everybody to be comfortable at the same time. We had my wife's parents with us on this trip and let me say I was very happy with the space.
The adult couples each had their own room and the kids had theirs. There was a family room area that was nice to relax in if you didn't want any distractions. The house was very clean and well stocked. We were fortunate enough to experience a beautiful sunset, set against a lake that was a smooth as glass. There are three bathrooms which is just awesome when you have 7 people in the house! It just fit our needs very well.
The owners were very kind and attentive. There was an issue with the wifi when we first showed up and Robin was over almost immediately and had if remedied. Even though it was winter they had provided some fire wood for the fire pit by the beach which we almost took advantage of:). Robin's communication through the rental process was thorough and responses were not too long in waiting.
In summary, I was very happy with the value. I would stay here again and I would recommend this property to others.
Thank you so much Robin. We wish you continued success with your vacation rental!
Our family has rented homes in Michigan for the past 20 years. We love swimming, fishing and just relaxing in clean waters with sandy beaches. This home was perfect for that and much more. Our family consisted of 2 adults & 6 teenage kids. In the back of the house, it had two bedroom with their own bathroom, (which is where the kids slept), and the master bedroom in the front of the house had a bed, TV, air conditioning & it's own private bathroom. Very relaxing for the adults when getting away was needed! This home is very clean and spacious. The wi-fi is not the best, but the kids actually put their phones down, closed their laptops, and went outside. They fished, swam, used the paddle boat, made a fire, sat on the raft (enjoying the other kids going by on pontoon boats) and just talked and relaxed. It was great to see. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you'll need. The washer & dryer came in very handy and worked great. The communication before our stay with the owner was excellent. During our stay, we had no issues. We totally recommend this house for an adults-only weekend, or families.

What a terrific place to reconnect with family and nature in such a beautiful, clean setting. The cottage easily accommodated six adults with lots of room to spare. We took advantage of many of the amenities, such as the large deck with comfortable seating and umbrella, the paddle boat, row boat, fire pit, grill, and sandy beach area. In the evenings, many laughs were shared in the family room. The kitchen made it easy to prepare meals and included a dishwasher. Bonus! And although we didn’t watch much TV, the cottage had a terrific television which included cable.
It was easy to find the cottage off of the main highway (94). We enjoyed appetizers one night at Big Ts in town (Lawton) and the local winery, St. Julian’s (Paw Paw), both of which were only minutes away.
The owners were quick to answer our phone calls and emails—great people to work with! The only drawback was the phone reception and service; it was spotty at best.
We loved our weekend at the cottage and hope to return next year. Thanks so much!
For the last 2 years, our family of 4 adults and 2 kids have spent a week in June in the cottage on Bankson Lake. We truly love its location and amenities. The owners create a friendly and helpful atmosphere but leave peopole alone to enjoy their stay. The rooms are homey and comfortable, especially the bedrooms because their location allows for privacy for both children and adults. The property, well maintained and clean, has all the necessities for a carefree vacation. The groomed beach leads to a gradually sloping, sandy lake bottom, ideal for safe water fun. The deeper water beyond the anchored raft provides for enjoyable and fishing and boating. The only suggestions we would make are the addition of a bench at the end of the pier and a land phone(cell phone reception is not good). If we were interested in having our own lakehouse, we would use this cottage on Bankson as a model.
This is definately a five star lake house. The house is fully equipped with everything that you need. The landscaping is beautiful. The view of the lake from both decks is breathtaking. The beach area is clean and well equipped for all ages. Bankson Lake is an excellant lake for anyone who enjoys fishing. This lake house offered us a fun, relaxing and peaceful vacation. We hope to return in 2013.

The listing on this vacation rental was right on and the pictures we as beautiful as the place was. The view was so pretty and the beach was so nice, the water perfect and the raft in the water for the kids to swim to and jump off was a nice extra touch! The house is so roomy, clean and comfortable. We went into the Lawton for dinner and also to Paw Paw for groceries and ice cream, just minutes away. I would recommend this to anyone and will be going back next year. The Jennings Family

Our nextdoor vineyard offers a unique setting to enjoy a nature hike, or a peaceful country picnic.
