Come and enjoy our home away from home, Casa Rio.

Casa Rio Yosemite is a private home on Highway 41 conveniently located just five minutes north of central Oakhurst, California. It is a beautiful private estate property – one of the premier High Sierra locations outside of the National Park – with the property stretching across the river to own a part of the infamous Lewis Fork. Casa Rio Yosemite sits on approximately 9 acres by the river with views and access to Lewis Creek, a view of Deadwood Mountain, and a rare view of central Oakhurst. Casa Rio Yosemite is centrally located – with great access to the town of Oakhurst (3.5 miles), Bass Lake (5.5 miles), and the South Entrance of Yosemite (12 miles). It is no wonder why our home has been popular to Yosemite visitors with its secluded yet accessible location to everything the High Sierras has to offer. The Gold Country/High Sierras is a historic location in California! Oakhurst is a small town outside of Yosemite National Park that has great amenities for folks traveling through to Yosemite.

Oakhurst is a great logistical point to stop for guests arriving to see Yosemite National Park. Oakhurst is the last town that have all the amenities we need (gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants, etc.) before you arrive at the South Entrance of Yosemite National Park. We have amazing restaurants in the area (Elderberry's House & Narrow Gauge Restaurant), grocery stores (VONS & Raley's), and conveniences such as banks & gas stations.

We have found that most renters that visit the park find that a one-day visit to Yosemite Village is enough and would rather enjoy the rest of their time in Casa Rio - where they have a little piece of Yosemite for themselves.

Other Activities: Bass Lake is just around the corner!!

We had a wonderful stay in Casa Rio. It was great to be able to safely let our dog run around off-leash. The property was as described. We would, and will, recommend staying here. We enjoyed exploring Yosemite, wine tasting, and hiking in the area.

Second time here and still awesome!

We stayed here again in April 2012. Caught trout right near the house and several more just a short walk away. The place is completely comfortable and clean. It is so much fun being there. We usually stay with a group of 4 guys, but I could see this working well for couples or even a family with a few kids. Also, the owner is easy to talk to work with and an all around friendly guy.

My wife and I just finished a three night stay at the Casa Rio property. What a perfect weekend! The location was amazing, the price, the place itself, and the ability to get away from it all! This is truly god's country and it is so great to have been here! We really need to keep this place a secret!!

Amazing!

I stayed here for 3 days with my best friends and it could not have been more perfect. First the house is immaculate, tasteful and clean. Second, the host is not only the nicest guy but an excellent tour guide. We came up last minute and from Yosemite to the Giant Sequoias to the best local hikes he patiently explained where everything was, how to get there and what were the best places to go to see what we had come looking for. He also clued us in to the best spots to eat at. I will be back here again and again.

I’ve traveled the world and this is one of my favorite places to relax, go for walks, play in the river, and enjoy the lovely views. The rooms are artistically appointed and the entire experience has been inspiring. I will surely return... and soon I hope!
