Nice view out back windows

We stayed here 3 nights. It rained the entire time we were there; so we had no tv reception. Wouldve been better to at least had wi-fi. Cabin would be better with easier access to actually get down to the river...instead of having to just make a path somewhere to get down from the cabin. A porch on the back deck would have made this cabin soooo much nicer. There is a small porch off one of the bedrooms, but it still gets lots of street noise. Parking is very hazardous....more like just pulling off on the side of the road. I wouldnt walk to the village from here because traffic on this road is too hazardous. Yes, the river drowns out lots of the street noise; but you still know you are right beside a busy highway. Lots of literature inside to find things to do. It was very clean and well-maintained. However, the price is right.

Owner's Response: Our cabin is equipped with satellite Direct TV service which unfortunately can be affected by inclement weather. WiFi is offered to our guests by a number of restaurants in Chimney Rock Village (4 block walk or drive to downtown from cabin). Being directly on the river unfortunately there are a number of governmental building restrictions placed on us including walkways to the river (disturbing the natural habitat) and building decking in the river’s floodway. For our guest use, we have a stone walkway down to the covered picnic area by the River, which is complete with lights, ceiling fans, picnic table and chairs. Hickory Nut Gorge is very scenic, but narrow all along the river. Street parking is the norm from Bat Cave to Lake Lure including Chimney Rock due to topography.
