We invite you to stay at Casa Caracol our wonderful architecturally designed ecohouse set in the jungle above the surf beaches of Playa Majagual and Playa Maderas. The house is state of the art design with polished concrete floors and top quality fixtures and fittings. Built by the team who conceived Morgan's Rock Hotel just nearby - this house is for those who want that quality and luxury but are looking for more seclusion in their holiday choice. This Fully self contained home has a large kitchen so you can cook the food you like on your holiday from the gorgeous fresh local produce. Better than expected! Only 20-25 minutes from San Ruan del Sur, very quiet area, nice pool! Bigger than expected, fully equipped, 2 full bathrooms.... Nice view! "private" beach only 5 minutes away! Mandy was amazing helping us (activities, tour, surf spots, restaurants...)

Even Better Than Imagined!!!

Wow! This review is almost a year late, but because our trip was SO wonderful, I can remember every bit of it as if we were just there! And because it was so amazing I feel a review is more than necessary regardless of how tardy it may be. All of Balcones is incredible from the houses to the staff (the guards are so sweet and helpful). It is a one of a kind place! The "surf sabbatical" house is to die for! It is open and super spacious, and immaculately clean! Be forewarned you will live with the bugs as you are IN the jungle, but that is certainly part of the experience! You will also want to rent a proper vehicle so you can drive to the beautiful and secluded beach and into town. Gabby hooked us up with Irish John who rented us a Land Cruiser for the week at a very good price. Gabby should also be given a smashing review for how helpful and kind she is! She makes you feel at home before you even travel to Nica, and she will be there to answer ANY questions while you are there. She also gives a great tour of the area with restaurant recommendations and grocery shopping spots to acclimate you. John (with the land cruiser rentals) is also fabulously accommadating! Not only are his trucks ideal for Balcones, but he offers a cell phone you can pay minimally for just in case you have an emergency. Together they are quite a team, and from the moment you arrive in San Juan del Sur they are there for you! We would absolutely recommend this house (or any of the houses in private Balcones) and will hopefully have a chance to return someday ourselves. It was our own fun and romantic getaway to the jungle and the beach!!! Jade & Liz

We stayed a whole month and its really a nice place to be. There are so many things to do or just to relax. The house offers everything you need.

Dream home!

This house had excellent architecture and a very clean and modern layout. My business partner and I drove down to Nicaragua from Canada to film a internet-based reality show, and we used this house as our home base for the show once we arrived in San Juan Del Sur! The people who run Balcones de Majagual (where the house is located), are extremely accommodating and bent over backwards to make sure our stay was perfect. Can't say a single bad thing about the beaches, the people, and especially the house. We'll definitely be back!

Best Holiday in a long time!

Thanks Kaz and Tony for the awesome hookup! Jackie and I just got back from a week at the beach house earlier this month and to be honest it seemed too good to be true......but everything far exceeded our expectations! Tony kept in constant communication with us before and after the trip - couldn't ask for better service. Beautiful scenery, jungle sounds, great weather, short walk to perfect waves, can't beat the price anywhere. The house is straight out of a modern eco-architecture art exhibit, lots of living space, 2 large bedroom/bathrooms with semi-outdoor showers, we cooked every meal in the full kitchen and ate outside on the lanai with a view of the rain-forest valley and ocean. There's a wicked rad infinity pool on the edge of the hill with an even better view of the ocean - perfect to have a cocktail and watch the sunset. Very private and romantic - the only people we saw were the groundskeepers. We rented a 4x4 Landcruiser from Peter at Armadillo-Nicaragua in Granada and that was absolutely necessary as we went on excursions through mud pools, rock and small rivers in search of deserted surf breaks. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy the most beautiful country and culture we have ever experienced! The best part was the family of monkeys that live in the trees above the house - we awoke every morning to a beautiful sunrise and wild howling-monkey jungle sounds (although we gave them some competition).
