UNIT SPECIFICS AND VIEWS:
This entire resort is run by Westin and managed like a hotel. All the units at this resort are managed as part of a common pool. Unit assignments are made at check in. No one has the right to any specific unit.
This has some advantages and disadvantages for you, the guest.
1) There's no risk that you'll get a unit with tacky left over furniture from the 70s, or that hasn't been cleaned well, or with ancient non-working appliances. All the units are furnished by Westin and are identical on the inside.
2) Procedures for check in, etc are simple. No matter who you rent from, you get your electronic card keys at the same front desk, etc.
1) Because all the units are part of a common rental pool, no owner can tell you which specific unit you will be assigned.
2) Most owner reservations are 'run of the house' meaning you are not guaranteed any particular view. The only way an owner can guarantee their guest will have a particular view is to meet all three of these requirements:
a) book the reservation at the resort more than 8 months in advance;
b) book for exactly 7 nights starting on a friday, saturday, or sunday;
c) have originally purchased one of the units which has view reservation rights.
I don't have special view reservation rights. However, I own a lot of units. That makes me a '5 Star' elite owner in the Starwood/Westin program. As a result, my guests get some priority for unit assignments. So far everyone has been happy with their view and unit assignment.
However, if your vacation will be ruined if you don't get an oceanfront unit you probably want to find someone else who can guarantee your view. Remember, if it's less than 8 months before check in, you need to find an owner who happened to reserve your exact dates before the 8 month deadline.

My price for the 2 bedroom unit is one of the lowest prices out there. For the dates listed above, I have even lower special prices.
2) Accurate availability calendar
VRBO® now lets you search for properties which are available during your desired dates. Unfortunately, many owners at this property don't keep their calendar up to date. That's a good way to let you waste your time contacting owners who don't have your dates available. I have a lot of dates to rent and I keep my calendar up to date.
3) Flexibility in length of stay.
If you don't want to book exactly 7 days and check in on a Saturday, I can help. I own a lot of time at this resort so I can be flexible on length of stay and check in date.
- For rentals starting in less than 90 days you can stay for 3 or more days starting any day of the week.
- For other rentals you can stay for 6 or more days with either check in or check out on a Fri/Sat/Sun.
4) Flexibility to change dates or cancel.
If your plans change after booking, you have some flexibility depending on how far in advance you notify me. (Specials can not be canceled.)
For cancellations 70 days or more prior to check in you can choose from these options:
a) 95% credit toward booking different dates the same year
b) 75% credit toward booking different dates in a future year; or
c) 50% cash refund (must be requested prior to 9/15)
For cancellations less than 70 days prior to check in, you can choose from these options:
a) 90% credit toward another booking the same year for check in no more than 60 days in advance
b) 25% credit toward another booking in a future year (must be requested prior to 5/30)

Resort is on the best stretch of the North Kaanapali Beach (airport beach). Good reef off shore. Westin luxury with their signature Heavenly Bed and Bath. Beautifully manicured grounds with elegant Asian influences throughout. Less than five minutes from Lahaina, but away from the crowds.
