This is a very unique property in a beautiful, pristine mountain setting. It is conveniently located 50 minutes from Asheville and 30 minutes from Waynesville. The property is a guest house on my 24 acre property at 4,175 foot elevation. It is very peaceful and serene with very few neighbors.
The cottage is fully furnished. Just bring your clothes and some food. We have excellent high speed internet service - a luxury at this location in the mountains.
Hot Springs, the Pisgah National Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway are an easy drive.
We are located in Fines Creek (Haywood County). There is tremendous hiking on Max Patch - a nationally known hiking trail only 15 miles away.
Come stay with us and enjoy the beauty of our property.

I live on site on a lot that adjoins this cottage. I lived in the cottage for about 9 months while by house was being built.
The Owner purchased this cottage in 2007
This was our second trip to the cottage. We were there four years ago and enjoyed every moment. The weather was perfect the whole time we were there. The smoky mountains were beautiful and everyone in the city of Clyde & Waynesville were so friendly and nice. Lots of good restaurants and very reasonable prices, but we used the grill on the back porch as well, it was very accessible and nice. A nice getaway, plus easy access to EVERYTHING.
The cottage had EVERYTHING we needed for our month long stay. We had a great time. It was nice to have the best Internet service. Ate the best homegrown tomatoes and peaches from Duckett's Produce, close by. We liked the fact the owner was available if needed, but everything went along fine. The mountain view and sunsets were GORGEOUS. The drive to the grocery store, Asheville and Waynesville was very pleasant, scenic and pretty. Everyone we met was so friendly. We plan to return for another stay in the future, so would highly recommend the cottage.
We had such a great time here at the cottage. My children, ages 11, 6 and 4 were captivated by the beautiful scenery and nature walks that we took, daily. We were also pleased that there was amazing internet access for us to keep up with work while we were away. The property is even more beautiful in person, and it was immaculate!!! The owner was available for any questions that we had, and we were happy that there was a book in the property with all the local sites and attractions. Definitely go to the Cherokee Indian Reservation while you are there! And just a ride to the grocery store is a scenic tour in itself. This is true beauty and nature, and we are definitely coming back again next year to this location. We cooked all our meals at the cottage, but we went out one day for lunch on our way back from the Indian Reservation at a restaurant called Country Vittles, I believe. It was fantastic home-cooking family-style.
Very nice location. The daily scenic drive into town (Clydes and/or Waynesville) was pleasent and fun (we have no hills in Florida!) and the townspeople were friendly. The mountain this cottage is on is a great hike all on it's own! It is also located close to the state park and the max patch hiking trail. The cottage was very clean and offers all the kicthenwares needed if you chose to stay in for the night and cook a few meals. All in all, we had a great time and will definitely come back next year!
We had a fantastic time at the cottage and visiting the Asheville and Waynesville areas. The cottage had everything we needed and the view was amazing. Who would have thought that you can have a high speed internet connection in such a remote mountain location.
