HILL COUNTRY HAVEN- A QUIET ROMANTIC GETAWAY

Unless you are ready to relax, have an amazing view, and truly enjoy yourself, keep looking. Our stay at the farmhouse was nothing short of wonderful. The house itself is so cute, and the bedroom is beautifully done! Felt like we were in a real log cabin. There is so much land around, even with almost 2 feet of snow we still went outside. We had our dog, and he ran his little heart out, he's still catching up on sleep! Even with all the snow, the outside is so beautiful. And the outside deck is great along with the fire pit area, even though we didn't get to use it. Denise and Loren are also amazing people! Denise met us at the house when we got there and showed us around. And then we had some truck troubles and Loren came right down to help out! So much more than I would have expected. The weather was also bad the morning that we left, and Loren kindly asked if we wanted to stay another night. Sadly we had to turn it down, thanks to the long weekend being over. Before we left, we were already trying to pick another time to come up very soon. We really got to relax and have some us time, and our dog was so happy, so if youre looking for relaxation, romance, or even dog exercise, try this farmhouse! It's amazing.

What a wonderfully relaxing place to be! We were looking for a nice quiet place in the country for some R&R and this place is awesome - a great get-away from the noise and traffic of the city.

It was great to meet Loren and learn about the farm history and it's being in the family for over 100 years!

The house is quite charming and the bedroom and skylights are awesome. There are plenty of windows with great views of the fields and the fall colors in the woods.

We cooked breakfast each morning and made hearty stews in a crockpot to eat for our lunches and dinners. We ate out only once the whole week we were there!

It was a treat to watch the Amish as they traveled past the house in horse and buggies and the Amish children walking home from school.

We really enjoyed walking the trails, we saw an owl fly over one evening before dark. And another evening we even saw a late migrating humming bird on the deck flowers!

It was so hard to pack up and leave. We are looking forward to our next opportunity to come back to the farm!!!

Wife and I stayed for three nights to get away for a long weekend. Hostess was waiting for us when we arrived. Walked on the mowed trails, had a fire outside one night, cooked on the gas grill a couple nights. Brought along some DVDs to watch in the evening. Very pleasant home. Liked the skylights in the bedroom. Very private. Saw lots of Amish buggies go by. Lots of stars in the night sky. Nice to be able to cook our own breakfast and wash dishes before heading out for the day. Kitchen had all the utensils, dishes and pans we needed for our meals. Zone heating was nice as we could turn down the heat in a room when we knew we wouldn't be in it. Neighbor's dog barking the entire time we were out by the fire was annoying, but what can you do. Loads of small towns and things to see off the beaten path, especially Wildcat Mountain State Park. Would definitely consider staying here again if we want to spend another weekend in the area.
