Are you ready to get away from it all? Come and relax on the mountainside and enjoy the views, the tranquility and nature from this brand new log cabin located in the Great Smoky Mountains, Murphy, North Carolina.

With Tennessee to the North and West and Georgia to the South, Cherokee County, NC is the westernmost county in the State of North Carolina. Surrounded by the Cherokee National Forest and the Nantahala National Forest, Murphy remains a popular Summer and Autumn vacation destination. Located at the intersection of four US Highways and three rivers, the county seat of Murphy continues to have all the charm of a small Southern town. Because a large amount of land within the area is part of the National Forest or held in trust by the US Government for the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indian Nation, the unspoiled wildnerness surrounds you wherever you go. Murphy and the surrounding communities offer a wide variety of relaxing nature-oriented activities along with popular attractions for the whole family to enjoy and all within driving distances.

Get away from the heat in the summer and enjoy the outdoors. In the Summer, the temperature ranges from highs in the 80's to low's in the 60's. Go whitewater rafting or zip-lining on the Nantahala River or the Ocoee River. Take a day-trip and drive along the Cherholah Skyway at altitudes in excess of 5000 feet with numerous trail heads, picnic areas, and the beautiful Tellico Falls at the western end.

Tour a winery, go shopping for antiques, or enjoy Downtown Murphy with its quaint shops and terrific restaurants. Take a walk on the Riverwalk along the Hiwassee River. On the first Friday of every month from May to October, local artists and artisans display their works for sale along Valley River Avenue in Downtown Murphy. Weekends bring out entrepeneurs from all walks of life with sales at the Flea Markets and Farmer's Market. And, yes, we do have a golf course located in the Upper Peachtree area. You can also enjoy boating, fishing*, and swimming in local lakes.

Leaf changing season usually begins in mid-October with the peak occurring around the first week of November. Early autumn temperatures range from highs in the 60's and lows in the 40's with late Autumn temperatures ranging from highs in the 50's and lows in the 30's. Our average yearly snowfall is only between four and six inches, with the first snowfall usually occurring in late December.

Moose Hollow is also located about one-hour away from Helen, GA and Blue Ridge, GA. We are one and one-half hours away from Harrah's Cherokee Casino which is located near the south entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

This lovely cabin provides all the comforts and conveniences of home with the beauty of being up in the mountains. Whether you are planning an active-fun filled vacation or just quiet relaxation time, everything you need is here in the wonderful mountains of North Carolina.

This wonderful cabin is located just east of Murphy off Highway 64 East/74 West. It's about a 3 mile drive up easy winding roads to a private secluded area on one acre of wooded land on Shady Creek Ridge in the Upper Peachtree area. This is a luxury cabin tastefully decorated and fully furnished with all the comforts of home. The cabin is one story, 2 bedrooms (linens provided), 2 full baths (towels provided), full kitchen (all you need to bring are your groceries and paper products), gas fireplace, washer and dryer, 3 TVs with cable, VCR/DVD, stereo/CD player, phone (local calls only), ceiling fans, central heat and air conditioning, and large fully covered porch with rocking chairs to enjoy the view and relax while planning your activities.

Master Bedroom - Queen Size bed; Second Bedroom - Full size bed; Living room - Queen size sleeper.

*NC law requires you obtain a proper fishing license for fresh water fishing, and there may be catch limits for certain varieties. Check with local authorities or local sporting goods store prior to fishing.

CLEAN, COZY

So cute, clean, and cozy. We enjoyed a fire outside in the evenings and looking at the stars. Went to downtown Murphy which is so cute with shops and restaurants and a nice winery. This cabin is a great value!

A LITTLE SLICE OF HEAVEN

  • 5 of 5
Thank you so much for your hospitality. Your cabin was awesome. Every detail of the cabin was pure country and greatly appreciated. The cabin was a true escape for us from the hustle and bustle of Atlanta. It was the perfect 27th anniversary weekend getaway.

Kevin and Mimi were the perfect hosts as they concerned themselves with making sure every detail was up to par. The flowers and card for my wife and I were the perfect touch. You two are the definition of hospitality and service.

Thank you for the suggestion of Cherokee Winery, we took home a total of 8 bottles of wine after we had to replace the two we had drank Saturday night. The folks at the winery were also typical Murphy people-FRIENDLY. We visited downtown Murphy and had several conversations with people in the shops and sidewalks we never knew before but we felt like friends afterward. We look forward to coming back maybe in the snow??

REALLY PERFECT!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I took my parents and two dogs here and I can't say enough good things about this cabin! It's decorated just like I would do it! I loved all the little Moose and the Racoon eating the cracker jacks was perfect! It has everything you want in her spice rack and cooking utensils! I've rented a lot of cabins and this one was the best stocked by far!! The mattresses were so comfortable and the location was super peaceful! The neighborhood dog was so sweet, too! Kevin and Mimi were a phone call away if we neede them, but otherwise they did not bother us at all! I will definitely be renting this cabin, again! Thanks for some great memories!

Owner's Response: Thanks Terri for this fantastic review. We live in Murphy now but we used to vacation up here and we know just how important the little things can be in a vacation rental. We do hope you rent here again, and as I said in my previous e-mail, we do offer special rates in the Winter after the New Year until April and for stays of one week or more.

RELAX AND ENJOY WHAT OTHERS ONLY DREAM OF

  • 5 of 5
This past November my husband and I rented this beautiful cabin call Moose Hollow. We had every amenitie you could want. The owner's decorating talents showed throughout the cabin making you feel just like home. What a delight just to set on the front porch in the rocking chairs and look at the colorful mountain view and just listen to nature that surrounded you. The neighbors were friendly and the neighborhood dog was such a joy. This cabin was just what we needed. We were so pleased with everything that we called the next day and reserved it for another week, and tried to talk the owner into selling it to us. I'm sure that if you desire all of the above you will have a wonderful and pleasent stay and you'll take back fond memories of good times and remember your stay at Moose Hollow, I know we will.

A BEAUTIFUL - WARM - COZY CABIN CALLED MOOSE HOLLOW!

  • 5 of 5
The Lord God gave me a desire of my heart - to stay in a cabin in NC with my family for Christmas!

Even though it was last minute in getting the paper work signed and monies sent to the cabin rental concierge, etc., the couple we dealt with were kind and very facilitating. Everything was carried out in a professional manner, directions were terrific, and our 5 day stay was super!

Not only was the cabin very clean, but it was so beautifully decorated, and made one feel right at home, right away. The amenities were well thought out, especially for me who cooks from scratch! The outside fire-pit was a plus for us because it made for a full day of fun for my children and I. The neighbors were super nice and helpful, and the neighborhood dog, Duke, we fell in love with, and we so much wanted to take him home with us. My 12 year-old son, and 14 year-old daughter had a blast playing with Duke. Actually, he took to all of us, and us to him instantly. As we were driving away, he looked so sad watching us leave, that most of us had to hold back tears.

We all very much recommend this beautiful cabin in the mountains. It's minutes from town, not too way out in the middle of nowhere, and it offers such peace and fun.
We are honestly praying about coming back again next year!

Sincerely,
One Happy Family

MOOSE HALLOW

  • 5 of 5
It was the most relaxing vacation I have had in years. The cabin had the best decor that you would see in a cabin. The afternoon and evenings were spent in the rocking chairs. The night were great for sitting out and watching the firefly dance in the trees and bushes. The neighbors were great aand friendly. The quiet walks with the dogs down the hill and back up was good exercise. The dogs loved playing in the water at Mary and Tims place at the bottom of the hill. I will go back.
