504 East Lake Road offers the discriminating renter so much more than just a cottage on the lake. The five acre property with over 100 feet of beach, level lawns, woods and a wonderful creek to hike, is a rare treat on Keuka Lake. It simply doesn’t exist anymore, except here at this address on the very desirable Lower East Lake Road on Hewitt's Point.
BEACH: Level and deep set, offering guests a chance to experience the most beautiful baby-fine shale in the Finger Lakes. The long dock provides space for a boat or two and has a set of stairs on the end of the dock to make it easy to get in and out of the lake. No stay would be complete without a soul-stirring bonfire to cook marshmallows over while you sip a cocktail in the beach cabana and watch the sun set into the folds of hills. (firewood provided). Horseshoes provided!
BOATS: You have the use of the rowboat, two-person kayak, sunfish (for experienced sailors) snorkeling equipment (adult sizes) and various beach toys for kids.
HOUSE: A year round home with three bedrooms, plus a loft and two full bathrooms…one with a bathtub/shower combo, one with a shower only. (plus public water and sewer). Our home is comfortably furnished with newer pieces mixed with antiques and an eclectic art collection. The beds are excellent! (two kings, one queen, one full). All linens provided and we have extra blankets and pillows.
GAMES: The antique armoire in the family room is home to a great collection of games and toys for all ages. In the upstairs loft, another toy chest with toys for the younger set awaits. The loft is ‘fenced in’ with white lattice to give it privacy and security, but also to let the little kids ‘spy’ on the adults while they play with their own toys. It’s a fun spot for them to feel separate and yet still be close.
Outside, lots of opportunities exist for badminton, volleyball, bocci, baseball, and even kick the can. (toys provided) Catch fireflies in a jar, or just lie on your back at night to see the clear view of the Milky Way. There is also a ZIP LINE to ‘fly’ from one tree to another (lightweights only!) This is to be used ONLY with adult supervision.
The kitchen is modern, nicely outfitted and home to a very large kitchen table which seats ten. Just outside on the porch, an outdoor dinning table awaits. A deep-set covered front porch turns into a wraparound porch from which you can view the lake and the yard leading to the woods. The porch has ample seating on wicker furniture out front and a long cushioned church bench on the side. Another deck with wicker seating is attached to the front bedroom. Private and relaxing.
We hope you’ll relax at 504 East Lake Road and make it your home during your stay. You, and your kids if you bring them, will love the water but also have a wonderful time exploring the woods and creek looking for frogs and salamanders. The lake...the lawn...the woods...the creek...it's all here. And it really does have a magical ability to restore you.

We both grew up on Keuka Lake, attended Penn Yan Academy and moved onto the rest of the world for the next thirty years. We have always kept a home on the lake. Once you visit, you'll understand why! We both have a deep love and respect for the natural beauty that surrounds our home, the lake and the entire Finger Lakes Region. It is a very special piece of the planet.
Mary Worth purchased this house in 1998
We love the Keuka Lake area....it can be action packed and stimulating or quiet, private and restorative. You choose how you want to be here.
We love being surrounded by nature. There is nothing quite as wonderful as waking up and seeing that magnificent lake greet you each morning. It changes every day. It's alive and organic and CLEAN! Summer's are so much fun swimming, skiing, sailing, kayaking, crusiing, dinning out, walking, biking, winery touring....
Then Fall arrives and takes your breath away. Warm water, cool nights and the most colorful palate imaginable everywhere you look. Fall harvest wine tours, dinners out, and long walks fill the weekends. It's all so beautiful it almost hurts.
Winter is a cozy, quiet time to get out to enjoy the skiing and ice boating....or just snuggle up to a great book or a really wonderful movie by the fire.
Spring springs! You can actually feel the earth start to heave a very deep breath and shed its quiet outer layer. The birds and buds pop, you dust off your bike and take as many rides as possible with a huge grin on your face. There simply is not a bad time of year here. It's all wonderful!
We spent the most relaxing and romantic New Year's yet! Being here was therapy for the mind and soul - especially when you're from the hustle and bustle of New York City! Even our dogs were able to connect to nature (and their inner little hunters) running around your incredible back yard!
Our family stayed here for a week long vacation in late June. You could not have asked for a more beautiful place!!--it has a huge lawn with lots of outdoor games, lots of outdoor seating of all types. It makes it easy to feel relaxed with such a large, wide open and beautiful yard space. There is a very nice beach with large canopy and lots of chairs so you have the option to be in the sun or right next to the beach or under the canopy if you prefer shade or it rains. The house is beautifully furnished with lots of personal touches so that it doesn't feel at all like a rental. Beds are very comfortable! Our favorite thing was having evening meals and evening chats in the cozy seating area outdoors on the large front deck. It has a perfect view of the lake because the house sits up on a hill next to the lake. You will find everything you need in the kitchen in terms of dishes and utensils. Our kids (aged 11 and 14) enjoyed using the boats (boating shoes recommended), and we rented a speed boat (brand new, from a marina about 8 minutes drive from the house) one day for tubing. The water was the perfect temperature in a warm day! There are several restaurants on the water where you can stop and eat while boating (we had a great lunch at one). There are also lots and lots of great wineries on this lake. Rooster Hill winery is only 5 minutes walk from the house, and we went there several times. After searching, we found that Arbor Hill winery on Seneca lake (right next to Keuka) has several types of sparkling juices that our kids loved. If you are heading to the area, this is a lovely place to stay! You are about 30 minutes from Corning and 30 minutes from Watkins Glen (in the opposite direction), which are both worth visiting. Mary and her husband were super hosts and very warm and helpful (e.g., tips on restaurants, informational brochures on area activities, etc.), and the year round neighbors were also very friendly. We would come here every year if we could!
We had an amazing weekend family getaway at this wonderful home. My four kids loved the zipline, badmitton, huge lawn and exploring in the woods. We all loved the lake and I couldn't get the kids or our lab out of it. We were lucky to have warm weather and the lake is very clean with a great beach area. Bring water shoes as it is rocky, but we loved the gradual entry especially for my little ones. We rented a boat from a local marina and took the kids tubing and explored the lake. Each night we made s'mores around the fire by the lake. Keuka Springs winery was beautiful and the owners opened up the store while they were having a private family cookout just for us. The wine is highly recommended. Mary is so helpful and went out of her way to answer my questions. She even had fresh flowers in the house when we arrived. Overall, house is comfortable and clean and doesn't feel like a rental. When we arrived home my three year old cried because he wanted to go back to "the lake house".
The wineries are everywhere! And the views from most are just beautiful. The Finger Lakes Wine has been winning more and more awards in the last few years and their reputation is gaining a great deal of respect by noted wine enthusiasts. Rooster Hill is a 4 minute walk from the house. Amy & David would love to have you visit.
