Cottage, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 4.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Lake Walk is a beautifully furnished and decorated house with special touches to detail. You get the best of three worlds in a luxury home, on the lake, in the mountains. Four bedrooms, four and a half baths, two fireplaces, Flat screen HDTVs in the living room, recreation room, loft, and bedrooms. The king bed master bedroom with bath is located on the main floor with an open great room, eating area, and fully furnished kitchen. Upstairs has one twin bed bedroom and full bath and downstairs has two bedrooms one with two twin beds and one with a queen bed each with a full bath. A double sofa bed is located in the loft for additional sleeping and the eating area is ideal for a family or group. We have a large wood swing on the lower porch with a great view of the lake. Walk to the lake, beach, water slide, and fitness center on our own path. We supply everything that you should need including linens, towels, paper products like toilet paper, to washing maching detergent.

Big Canoe is a 9,000 acre gated hard wood forest in a wild life sanctuary. We offer golf, tennis, world class fitness center with indoor pool, two outdoor pools, a beach with natural water slide, seven mountains, five lakes, and twenty plus miles of hiking trails. The area is rich in sightseeing with Dalonega and Blue Ridge not far away. Come visit us for any of these many activities or just relax in the mountains.

Wonderful Property

This is property is close to most amenities. We had a large party staying for Thanksgiving, so it was nice to walk down the back steps and be on a hiking trail or at the indoor pool/sandy beach. The playground, picnic tables, etc. were only a short drive. Take the drive to Dahlonega, GA. Cute little downtown.

Pros - convenient, nicely decorated, bedrooms a good size, plenty of bathrooms, kitchen large enough to cook, hiking trails were very convenient. The back deck and screen porch were a plus so that our large party could spread out.

Cons - Parking is limited. Since we were close to the pool, we parked 2 of our 4 vehicles there, and walked up the back stairs. Granted it's steep, but it was a doable solution. Amenities cost, which we were unaware of...indoor pool, fishing, etc. all has a higher than average cost. You might want to know that upfront.

A little bit of Heaven...

Our family stayed in this house for two weeks this summer. It was a home away from home, and gave us a much needed respite. We loved that the path to the pool/lake was literally just steps away! I highly recommend this location!

We stayed at Lake Walk property in the summer months a found it to be wonderfully appointed by the owners, very "homey" in feel, yet classy enough for a memorable vacation getaway. All the amenities were at our finger tips; we could have stayed self-contained and relaxed at the cabin, just as easily as we could have partaken in all that Big Canoe has to offer (sights, golf, tennis, pools, dining out, etc.) If you are looking to rent a fully equipped, well maintained mountain chateau, this is a terrific choice. The pictures tell the story best. You won't be disappointed!
