The Channel House: few homes in the world are as unusual and magical. Set in 2 acres of mature tropical gardens and 20 yards from the turquoise waters of the beach, this house was one of the early, old houses of Providenciales. Built in the traditional Bermudian style it is set high up 12 ft above ground level allowing superb views out over the waters of Leeward Going Through. The feeling is of living in a tree house which is accentuated by an enclosed verandah which wraps around the entire house, fully netted, letting the breezes in and keeping the bugs out. This is a natural and effective air conditioning system allowing the occupants to live and sleep in comfort.

Relax on the comfortable upper terrace with its wonderful sea views or stretch out in the sunshine on the patio area down by the private pool and absorb the beauty and the sounds of the tropical gardens.

The wave action is gentle in the Channel and this, together with the long stretch of white, powdery sand makes a lovely beach for swimming, sunbathing and beach combing.

As the house is situated opposite the Princess Alexandra Nature Reserve the bird life is amazing: watch the pelicans cruise past, listen to the terns calling and catch a glimpse of the osprey flying by feeding its young. A true paradise.

About The Owner

As soon as we set eyes on Channel House we fell in love with it. Hidden behind overgrown trees it was falling apart, bug ridden and desperately in need of attention. Imagine our surprise when we found it was for sale - we had to buy it! And so began an ongoing project which, at times, has proved to be quite a challenge; but we have never regretted the decision to purchase the house and love it dearly.

Why The Owner chose Providenciales - Provo

The location, for us, was perfect. We wanted somewhere private, on the sea and with enough land to allow us to make a tropical garden. The Channel House fulfilled all these criteria.

What makes this house unique

Staying at the property is, for us, a total break from the freneticism of our lives here in the UK. The house is incredibly peaceful and we can totally relax.

We stayed at this beautiful and comfortable house with a party of friends for a week, and had a terrific time. In an outstanding location, with stunning sea views and direct access to an almost 'private' beach, the house is surrounded by a large mature garden full of palms and flowering shrubs that give a sense of peace and seclusion - but not of isolation, being only 10 minutes by car to the shops and restaurants of Grace Bay. The Channel House really does give you the best of both worlds, and though we wished we could have stayed longer, in just one week we were able to see and do so much in this amazing place. We absolutely loved it

Two week stay at the Channel House in July

We rented the Channel House for two weeks and had two groups of family come in for a week at a time. We absolutely loved the house and location was perfect for our expectations. We are seasoned island travelers and have done all the resort vacations and was looking for something more quiet with beautiful beaches and quiet atmosphere and this is what we got with this house. Keep in mind the house does get a little warm without AC in the main house but you get used to it as the house has excellent airflow from the water. It was bulit for airflow. You must have a car to get to the store and basically anywhere but it's all a short drive. The beach outside of the house is great and very quiet in regards to people. It is a channel so you get the occasional boat traffic but we didn't really notice it. Across from the channel is a park with a short canal which is great for kayaking.

I could go on and on but I can recommend this house as I don't think you will be dissapointed.

Amazing Experience!

My family and I enjoyed an amazing week at the Channel House. The house was wonderful inside and out. We thoroughly enjoyed the location for all that it offered. The views of the channel, the nature preserve and rain storms from the upper patio were magnificent. The rooms were great as was the rest of the house. So nice to be able to walk to either the beach (essentially private) 20 yards away or utilize the heated pool. I also enjoyed the use of the 2 person kayak every afternoon, even saw a shark once near the mangroves!
The property manager, Dinesh, was a delight! She was very personable and accommodating to my family's needs. She had great recommendations for restaurants, markets, boat charter and even brought us extra wine when we ran out earlier than expected....
Our family talks about our trip and the Channel House literally at least once a week. Loved it and hope to go back soon!!
