You can have your cake and eat it too at this truly oceanfront secluded condo on West Bay Beach. Within 25 feet of water's edge you can watch for the emerald flash in air conditioned comfort while you are mixing a Monkey Lala. Or watch your family come and go on the dive boat next door.

This second home is well equipped for any families' holiday enjoyment. The master suite with king bed is separated from the second bedroom via wide hallway and second bath. A queen bed and a twin bed make up the second bedroom. There are two well made queen sofa beds in the living area.

Each room has remote controlled air conditioning units that are ceiling mounted along with ceiling fans. The large screened sliders can be opened to let in the breeze off the ocean. This unit is connected to the development?s backup generator that is activated automatically when the power goes out.

It is like having your own private white sand beach from which sunset can be watched in air conditioned comfort. Snorkeling is a couple of minutes swim away while Grandma and Grandpa watch the excitement from the shaded deck.

Next door to this small condo development of 6 units is a small quiet dive resort and on the other side is a large family estate. This development is just a short walk down a well lighted beach to the major resorts and restaurants on West Bay Beach. Even so, it is secluded from them via the short point of iron shore. There are only private roads along this part of West Bay Beach providing access to residents and guests only.

There are ample dive resorts, restaurants, bars and shopping within a 10 minute walk of this villa so there is no need to have a car to drive to West End for the night life. Yet, you are protected from the hustle, bustle and noise via the barrier created by the short spit or iron shore with a boardwalk over it.

About Linda Kay

Left a career in IT Project Management and satellite systems engineering to move with my husband and teen son to Roatan. It was the best thing we could have done for our son and ourselves.

Why Linda Kay chose Roatan

It is on the most beautiful beach on Roatan yet is not in the thing of all the hubbub. It is on the West Bay Beach side of the canal and the ridge. It does not have public road access to the beach where it is located and it is an easy walk to amenities.

What makes this villa unique

It is water front with a white sand beach an coral very close to shore. It has fabulous views of the water through double pane glass sliders; split AC units and quiet concrete construction.

This vacation home is located ocean front (20 ft from water's edge) in a secluded area of West Bay Beach due to its private road access. Voted one of Earth's 10 most beautiful by National Geographic, West Bay Beach is most affluent destinations on Roatan. The bay is sheltered yet it gets fresh currents from being at the very western end of the island. It is west of West End with a mountain ridge between the two. West End was a busy dive destination while West Bay was only accessible via boat. West Bay's beach is blocked by resorts to vehicle traffic.

The best vacation getaway on Roatan!

In our opinion, this condo is in the best location on Roatan. Located just around the bend from West Bay Beach, it is quiet, relaxing and picturesque, and yet it is just a few minutes walk - and quite a pleasant walk at that - to restaurants, bars and shopping on West Bay Beach.
We snorkeled the reef right in front of the condo everyday, and the snorkeling was phenomenal! The snorkeling was so good that all of the other 'touristy' activities we had thought about doing took a backseat - we will just have to come back again sometime to do those other things.
We ate out several meals as it is really quite inexpensive. Some of our favorites were Bite on the Beach - excellent food (with the famous green moray eels in the evening), Beachers for their $15 lobster special which was very tasty, Fosters for an excellent breakfast, and Rudy's in West End for the best smoothies.
The condo was exactly as described - very roomy and comfortable with all of the amenities of home. Staying at Villa Ocean Reef was a pleasant process starting with booking and through our entire stay. Everyone was very helpful and prompt with any requests that we had. Jensen made sure that we had a ride anywhere we wished to go.
We will definitely return to Roatan and this condo!

Paradise found!

The location is perfect. Just off the main "tourist beach" on the West end. Nice beach area just in front of the house, with private pool, hammock, and beach chairs. Plenty of restaurants, shopping and convenient mini mart just a short walk down the beach. Wonderful crew to work with booking, transportation and on site assistance!! Will definitely go back. The water is gorgeous and clear!!

Happy holiday travellers, Mom, Dad and 2 sons, ages 31 and 22

Villa Ocean Reef is in a great location, within walking distance to West Bay Beach and a quick water taxi ride to West End. The plunge pool is refreshing after a day of snorkeling on the reef just in front of the condo. Jensen was an asset to get us to the South Shore Zip Line, Iguana Farm, La Sirena, and mangrove tour to name a few! We even saw the green flash at sunset from the deck of the pool....awesome! Loved the lemon pepper fish and coconut shrimp at Beacher's, monkey la-las at Bananarama, and cold Salva Vida (3 for $5) on the beach. Swimming with the dolphins at Anthony's Key Resort was a real treat! You must buy fresh fish and cook it on the gas grill.....delicious and so inexpensive! This vacation rental was perfect for our family of four!!

I just returned from a nine (9) day stay at Villa Ocean Reef in West Bay on Roatan, Honduras. It was one of our best trips to the island in eight years. The property was accurately described, well maintained, very comfortable and relaxing. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything you’d need. The unit had more than ample linens for your stay. The entire process from booking to check out was easy and the staff super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We felt safe and secure the entire time. The unit was literally steps from the water and very convenient to restaurants, snorkeling and attractions along West Bay. Next door is Las Rocas Resort, which has a dive shop, restaurant and great happy hour and The Bite on the Beach which has good food and amazing sunsets. The property is located on the quiet end of West Bay which made for a calm and relaxing stay even on cruise ship days and the weekend when it tends to be very busy. My party consisted of three (3) ladies on a girlfriend getaway and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay.
