Spacious 4 bedroom home above Wailea with panoramic views of the ocean, Molokini and Lanai, watch whales from the front decks, sit in the hot tub and watch the stars and satellites, quiet location away from traffic. Close to golf, beaches in Kihei, Wailea and Makena.
Hi Ann, Thank you so much for the use of your house. It was absolutely perfect! Phil and Sharon did an excellent job. They were extremely helpful, and very nice. The house and view were GORGEOUS! I would highly recommend your house to anyone interested in spending time in Maui. Thanks again.
This house was just right for my wife and I and our three daughters with their husbands. Saved lots of money by eating breakfast at the house. Grilled steaks one evening. The house is located close to beaches, snorkeling bays and easy access off the main road. We did take in a boat snorkel trip tour, which unless you want the boat trip, you can rent snorkel gear for like $9 and access several great bays with just a many or more fish and stay as long as you wish. Be sure to look in the garage as there are several beach chairs, boogie boards and a large cooler to take along to the beach. We were out site seeing each day, so closed all blinds and windows, so when returning in the evening the house would be more comfortable. With all the windows to the west, which gives such a great view, the afternoon sun would heat the great room to a point the air conditioner would have to work to bring the temp back down to the comfort zone. Simply just remember to close things up before leaving for the day. Another fun time was getting up early and using the hot tub. What an audible and visual display of birds in the early morning hours. Of course we took the trip to Hana. Had two SUVs with four persons per vehicle. Only thing we did wrong was not leave early enough in the morning. Left at 9 and got back at 9. Went all the way around! But the last two hours was in the dark. There is only about 7 miles of road that is a bit rough and a short dry gulch (if it's not been raining) to cross. If you go counterclockwise, don't leave Hana until after noon, to avoid encountering heavy oncoming traffic. Most vehicles are going east to Hana in the morning and back west in the afternoon, so crossing the one way bridges really slows you down if you are going against the main flow. We continued our vacation on Oahu in hotels rooms and definitely missed the home atmosphere!!! Thanks Ann, for offering your home to us. Thanks, Phil, for some of the site seeing tips. Sorry we didn’t get to visit more with you and your wife, but we had zero issues with the house.
This was a family holiday. My wife & I & our elder daughter travelled from Ireland to LA to visit our son his wife & 2 grandkids.
We wanted to go to Maui & found this place.
Our stay was fantastic. The property was secluded & private & was exactly as described on the website. Could sleep 10 but as we were only 7 there was plenty of room.
The caretakers who live in an adjacent property(but weren't intrusive) were helpful showing us how everything worked(hot tub) etc. The house was fully equipped with all you would wish for.
The kids had a ball in the pool with lots of swimming toys etc to play with & there was a hot tub for the adults.
Plenty of towels for the beach & for inside use.
Seats/loungers at the pool & toys & seats for the beach.
There was a wonderful Lanai to sit with a drink & watch the sunsets over the sea & a table if you want to eat alfresco
The beaches are superb & were only minutes away by car & there were some lovely scenic drives & good restaurants to choose from. A large supermarket was only 10/15 minutes away.
Weather was great- one morning it was cloudy but didn't rain
Played golf with my son. We had a number of great courses to choose from & these were about 30/40/minutes away
Rented snorkelling & diving equipment locally.
The house was absolutely perfect for our stay and the booking process was flawless & our deposit was returned promptly.
Probably won't be back in Hawaii again( this was our second trip to the islands-were in Oahu 11 years ago). Its a long long way to come there from Ireland & we are now in our late 60's but if we did we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again-the long trip was certainly worth it.
I think our son & his family would definitely come back as it is not that far from LA
Overall we couldn't fault this property & would highly recommend it
Another 5 Star Review for this amazing place! My family of four stayed here for a week. It is centrally located perfectly in South Maui The family caretakers Phil and Sharon live right on the property behind the house. You will hardly ever know that they are there until you need something. Genuinely nice people. Plenty of room, perfect layout for privacy, great grill cooking area, nice pool and located on edge of ranch property to give you that solitude. We stayed in Hawaii 1 1/2 months and this was one of the nicest places and locations that we stayed.
This house helped to make our Maui vacation the best ever! We met with our kids and their families from three different states for our 35th wedding anniversary and had a great time! The house was exactly as advertised - very large and clean. The 11 of us were very comfortable and had everything we needed during our stay. There were plenty of kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and dishes for the meals we took turns making - saving us a lot of $ on food. Also lots of storage containers for leftovers. My daughter brought her Costco card, which saved us even more. There were plenty of towels, etc. in the bathrooms, as well as plenty of beach towels for the pool. The pool was perfect for our needs because it doesn't have a "deep end" so we were able to teach our grandkids how to swim. We found plenty of useful floaties, etc. in the garage to use both in the pool and at the beach.
Originally we were a little worried about the lack of air conditioning in some of the rooms, considering our trip was at the end of May, but between the island breezes and the ceiling fans, we did fine. The pickier among us were given the bedrooms with the A/Cs, which were the ones in the loft and on the bottom floor.
The location was very convenient to just about everything on the island, and the GPS from the car rental company found the house pretty easily. It's located at the end of the street, so no problems with traffic noises - in fact the only "noises" we heard were from all the birds that live in the trees surrounding the property (and a neighbor who was fixing up his house). A nice break from city sounds, though. Phil and Sharon were very helpful and friendly, cutting us two bunches of bananas right from their tree the day we arrived - delicious!
We spent a morning snorkeling from a catamaran, went to a luau, and my husband flew an Ultralight glider in Hana. Many in our group were unable to handle the winding road to Hana - despite the beautiful scenery along the way - due to car sickness. We definitely recommend making the drive upcountry to the Haleakala national park, though those roads wind, too (not as badly, though). Only $10 per car, and worth the drive once you get to the top!
We would definitely stay in this house again!
This is a really nice home Well maintained and a pleasure to come back to after a day of sight-seeing , I already have recommended it to my friends and relatives. We did a lot of snorkeling , going to Hanna , black beach, saw turtles and whales. All in all a great time in Maui.
We had a wonderful time at this house. Great location to get to either side of the island for day trips, or just hit the beaches around Kihei and Wailea. Fantastic sunsets each evening looking down on Molokini crater and the Pacific Ocean.
Very clean. Well maintained and plenty of space to stretch out and relax!
