A hill top location with privacy and charm offers one of the best views in the Adirondacks. You can see from Giant mountain to the Southeast through the Great range all the way to the Northwest and still are only a mile from the village of Keene and 14 miles from Lake Placid. Deer, turkeys and partridge are daily visitors. Multiple varieties of maple, oak and birch all show their foliage for breathtaking fall colors. The sunsets are beautiful with a full exposure of the western sky over the mountain tops towards Lake Placid. The view is facilitated by a deck and walkway on the entire South and West sides of this log home. The large field stone chimney houses a Vermont castings stove for warmth and ambiance. Both the kitchen and the dining area are open to the great room with it's cathedral ceiling and large windows on 3 sides. The artwork and furniture are authentic Adirondack and created by local artists.
$350 per night with a two night minimum + refundable $400 security deposit. Weekly $2400 with a $400 security deposit.
Rented this home for a ski weekend near Lake Placid. Beautiful home and very clean and maintained. Terrific views from almost everywhere in the home. The place was full stocked with everything we could need and even a few things we forgot.
My husband and I spent a special week at Serenity after Christmas with our 3 adult sons and other friends. Tom (the owner) was especially kind and engaging throughout our experience. The house was clean, the beds were super comfy, and we enjoyed the cozy gas fireplace and great room for hours. We prepared most of our meals on sight in the user-friendly kitchen. We especially enjoyed the hot water faucet for frequent cups of tea and for filling thermal carafes for hiking in frigid temps. The mountain views were glorious, especially since we had climbed many of the peaks we could see.
We traveled here with 2 other couples for a reunion of fun and friendship. Everyone was impressed with the beauty and spaciousness of the house and surrounding area. The house was well equipped with everything we needed to prepare some of our own meals in a lovely setting. Each day was full of activity including hiking, fishing, shopping and side trips to Vermont via the Lake Champlain ferry and Lake Placid, a short drive away. We enjoyed happy hour around the fire pit most evenings. Had a delicious meal at the ADK café right in Keene, only minutes away. Would return if we should decide to visit the area again and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to just relax in a serene setting or for outdoor adventure.
We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at Serenity. We were welcomed by the owner and had the pleasure of speaking with him once or twice during our stay. The property is well taken care of and stocked with many items that many other rentals do not provide. Everything in the home is very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the beautiful view, the deck and grill and the fire pit. Its a perfect location for those who like to hike as there are so many trails in the area but anyone wanting to spend some time enjoying peace and quiet would be happy here. The Hungry Trout restaurant in Jay is not far and we enjoyed an excellent meal there. We hope to return!
This place was amazing, clean, beautiful view, well stocked, wonderful owners! Close to a lot of good hiking! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway for friends and families!
We just got back from our stay in August of 2014 and this place was really wonderful. My wife and I decided to get away for our 10th anniversary and we chose Camp Serenity and it was a great choice. The place is secluded and has wonderful views. The house is a great open concept which makes for really enjoyable relaxing. The outdoor firepit was really nice and plenty of firewood right there for long and enjoyable fires on the nice cool nights. Tom, the owner, is super nice and if we had needed anything, would have been more than happy to take care of it for us - even though everything was just perfect, so we didn't really need anything. We came back one day from Lake Placid which is just 15 minutes away and found a bottle of wine at the door - so nice and thoughtful since we had mentioned it was our anniversary!
To sum it up, this place is a gem and we definitely plan to come back and stay again. We would highly recommend Camp Serenity to anyone that is looking to stay in the area!
The town of Keene is located in the famous High Peaks region of the Adirondack Park. There is great hiking and camping and uncrowded roads for sightseeing. Lake Champlain is to the East and Lake placid to the west. It is wonderful for curling up before a fire or for the most demanding of outdoor activities. There are many good restaurants and evening activities in Lake Placid. In Summer and Fall warm days and cool nights are characteristic and the Fall foliage is no more spectacular anywhere in the Northeast. This area offers something for everyone.
