Light and airy, Summer Daze is tastefully furnished with classic fabrics, original art, traditional Nantucket baskets handcrafted by the owner, and whimsical touches. The home features a cozy, comfortable single level with an open floor plan incorporating the kitchen, dining, and living areas. The living area is enhanced by a an enormous, private outdoor deck. The Main house has three bedrooms--a master queen with en suite bath, two twin bedrooms, another full bathroom, and a separate laundry room. Attached to the Main house by the deck is a private studio queen bedroom with en-suite bathroom, perfect for in-laws or nanny.

Located six miles (12 minutes) east of downtown Nantucket in the private Tom Nevers East community nestled among the moors, the location is characterized by a calm and peaceful aura, magnificent intense sunsets, and vast night skies. It is1 1/2 miles from the charming village of 'Sconset and its beach and two miles from the quiet, beautiful beaches of Madequecham.

The deck is spacious and private. Furnished with a table with umbrella and six chairs, two lounge chairs and cocktail table, the deck is perfect for entertaining, reading, sunbathing, or snoozing. It is fully enclosed with access to the driveway and backyard through two separate gates. On the deck is a shed housing all the beach furniture, coolers, and sand toys. A gas grill is also on the deck with extra propane available in the garage. Behind the deck is a small herb garden.

The yard surrounding the Main house is fully enclosed with a Nantucket style fence. The house is adorned with eight self-watering window boxes bursting with color. The driveway is large and provides plenty of off-street parking. A flagpole is on sight and we invite you to fly our flags.

Summer Daze is a value alternative to those considering resorts or B&B's on the island. The secluded Tom Nevers area is a serene alternative to the traffic and 'madding crowd' of downtown.

Nantucket Island, 'The Faraway Isle', is located 30 miles off the southern coast of Massachusetts. It is accessible by plane or ferry. The island is home to world class restaurants and a rich maritime history. There is lots to 'sea and do' and no matter what your pleasure, there is something that is sure to suit your fancy. Premier fishing, small and large boat sailing, surfing, white sand beaching, visiting maritime and historic museums, island-wide biking, golfing, whale watching ,seal cruising, and boutique and art gallery shopping are all enticing. The island has an active Chamber of Commerce and there are events, tournaments, and festivals scheduled for every month of the year.

Notes: Disappointed by your previous vacation homes with a minimum of kitchen amenities? The kitchen is well equipped with all large and small appliances including a coffee grinder, food processor and blender. There are gobs of plates, glasses and flatware as well as all kitchen utensils. You will find a cabinet full of spices and condiments. If you are a tennis enthusiast , the Tom Nevers Association has two newly surfaced courts for your use located diagonally across the street from the property. Please let the owner know that you are interested in playing tennis in order to arrange for a key to the courts. The house is conveniently located near the bike path and shuttle (NRTA) stop, both less than 1/4 mile away. The Sciasconset Golf Club (public nine holes) is 1/2 mile east on Milestone Road.

I wish I could say we had a terrible experience staying for a long weekend at "Summer Daze" so that no on else would want to stay here and it would be easy to book again, but alas, our experience was nothing but wonderful! The pictures do not describe the serenity, although a few evenings were interrupted by neighboring roosters, which only added to it's charm. The layout worked well for a family of 7 adults. We did bring our car, since it was easier to shuffle family members not catching the same ferry, and a mile long taxi cab ride is more expensive than in NY city! I would highly recommend staying here, and if the owners keep renting we will absolutley do so again!

Charming and Comfortable

We've rented Summer Daze for two weeks in August for the past 12 years--need I say more? It's nicely furnished, well equipped and cozy. The kitchen is especially nice and there is a good gas grill on the deck. We cook at home most nights. The Tom Nevers location is quiet and private but only a mile to Sconset village and a ten minute drive to the shops, restaurants, etc. in Town. August is a busy month on Nantucket, and we are always glad to leave the crowds in Town and return to the quiet of Summer Daze.

Loved it ! Cannot wait to return. Everything is top notch! From the kitchen suplies ( for you gourmets) to the accesibility of the beaches. Out of the crowds, yet into the Nantucket life style.Fully contained , yet spacious. Tennis courts are across the street.Even the beach equipment was there! One of the nicest amenities was the fact that within 15 minutes you can be "downtown"....yet when you return,you are in your own private compound. You can have both grilling on the deck and a fire on the beach ( with permits of course). And talk about starry,starry nights! A piece of heaven on earth....
