Perfect location. Quick access to the highway and just a 5 minute walk to town where you can get your morning coffee and shop at local stores. The beach is just a few minutes away!

Spaceous rooms and a beautiful front porch to sit and relax. We played football and frisbee on the big backyard and jumped on the kayaks since there is a backyard access to the lake.

When we arrived the kids could not wait to get out of the car and enjoy the huge backyard. They quickly checked the garage to see if all the 9 kayaks were still there and all the bicycles we use each year. Our week was filled with wonderful memories of sitting on the large porch, kayaking on the kennebunk river, surfing at the beach, and enjoying the many meals that we prepared in the great kitchen (and a few at local restaurants as well!). We look forward to this week each and every year. We were NOT disappointed this year, it was as wonderfu as ever!!

Great Family Vacation

Our family has a triennial reunion which we combined this year with a wedding. Three families stayed happily and comfortably in this home (6 bedrooms). It was great for kids of all ages since it was well stocked with board games, videos, kayaks and bikes. We walked into town and to the beach. Great value!

Perfect Place for a Family Vacation/Reunion

5 of 5
Submitted: March 31, 2012 Stayed: July 2011
This rental can clearly be classified as a "Home away from Home." The home is perfect for a beach get away and has LOTS of space to spread out. Very clean, well-maintained and decorated. The rooms were so nice it was hard to decide which room to sleep in. (Lots of bathrooms too) Walk down to the beach or into town (just steps away from a truly wonderful shopping experience. Lots of cute shops and restaurants. Then go back and enjoy the very large back yard with a cookout. Kids can play on the swingset and then enjoy drinks on the back porch with lots of room to relax (I think at least 7 rocking chairs) and listen to the beautiful fountain trickle in the background. Another thing we enjoyed doing was taking the kayaks out (access from the back yard) or take a walk down to the dock at the end of the road. My husband enjoyed throwing a fishing line in the water in the early morning and after dinner. We also took a few day trips to see some nice port towns and lighthouses. When you go home you will be totally relaxed. The owner was great at answering any questions before the trip (very prompt). We highly recommend this property--great for a few families to go in on.

5th year in a row!

Submitted: July 18, 2010 Stayed: July 2010
This house has been a great vacation place for our family for the last 5 years.
We love the location of the house because it is close to the beach, a short walk into town, has it's own water access, and is centrally located for many restaurants and local sights (hiking, lighthouse visits, etc).
There are numerous kayaks with life vests and the easy access to water is a huge plus. There are several bikes/helmets that are in great condition and there are great places to visit locally within biking distance.
The house is spacious and well provided for. The kitchen amenities make for convenient meal preparation and the soapstone sink is fabulous!!!
One of our favorite places to relax, read or just sit and chat is in the rockers on the spacious porch. The beautiful antiques thorough out this historical house give it a homey yet lavish feel.
