I grew up in Iowa and have lived in several states and in Europe and have owned vacation property in Colorado and in New York City. I currently live in Brooklyn, New York and love our Connecticut vacation home as a retreat from the busy city life. Besides this home that we offer for rental, we have our family's vacation home in West Haven, just a few miles from Hillside Beach. I am proud of the many reviews my guests have given on their stays at Hillside Beach.
I have a family vacation house just a few miles away on Long Island Sound and realized that while many people requested to stay in our home, I would like to have a property nearby to rent to vacationers and to people who work in the area during the academic months of the year.
The house has proved to be a very good buy since it is rented 365 days each year with a waiting list besides.
The views from the house's location are what enticed me to buy this house and to have it re-built. I changed the interior design to take advantage of water views and re-designed the house so that there are large front windows facing the water and are high enough to look over the houses downhill and the street below. The view outside the dining area makes the very large deck a wonderful place for breakfast and entertaining guests for a barbecue. The master bedroom at the back of the house offers quiet privacy and has it's own sliding door out to the back patio and terraced garden large enough for playing croquet or building a snowman.
