Our family spends a lot of time on Duck Lake. Whether we are skiing, tubing or kayaking, or bike riding around it. I joke, if there are four boats on Duck Lake, then it is too busy.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 2007

Beautiful peaceful location. Nice escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Possible retirement home.

No internet encourages game playing, down time and great conversations. There are places nearby with wi-fi.

ALREADY LOOKING FORWARD TO SPENDING A WEEK HERE NEXT SUMMER

  • 5 of 5
A week that went by entirely too fast but one that offered everything listed, and more. The owners bend over backwards to make sure everything is taken care of and that your questions are answered, so you can spend your time relaxing and enjoying everything this place has to offer. An aluminum fishing boat on a nice private dock, kayaks, a fire pit on the nice, sandy beach, and beautiful Lake Michigan sunsets are just some of the things included when you rent this cozy and comfortable cottage. Also can't say enough about the owners, they are truly wonderful people. Will definitely be back next year, already counting the days.

A group of friends and I stayed here for two nights last year and it created many lasting memories for us. The view of the lake from the cottage is breath taking! I reccomend sleeping in the sun room. I'd wake up to the sunrise every morning. Two nights did not do it justice so my friends and I are coming back this year for longer! The woman you rent from is very very nice and helpful too! Highly reccomend. There's a bonfire pit on the beach too!

DUCK LAKE LIKE I HAVE ALWAYS REMEMBERED!

  • 5 of 5
I spent many summers at my grandparents cottage on Duck Lake and was thrilled to find this great rental nearby.

The views of the lake are amazing! The place is clean, well kept, and very roomy. The beach is sandy, weed free, and great for little ones. The newer washer and dryer was a nice bonus! Jim keeps the lawn nice and green for cookouts, and Lisa was very helpful. (Thanks!)

By the way the best fishing spot on the lake is an old submerged log that is about 100 yards straight off the dock. I fished there 40 years ago and it has never let me down!

It was the perfect vacation for our two grown children, their wives, our grandchildren, and our dog. Duck Lake is a magical place and we will definitely be back!

THE PERFECT GETAWAY

  • 5 of 5
The views and peacefulness of the property were amazing. The house was older but very comfortable and clean. We totally enjoyed kayaking and fishing on Duck lake, and spending time on Lake Michigan just a short drive away. Hanging out at the house on the beach watching the stars at night was an absolute favorite memory of mine. Lisa was wonderful and very kind, we will be coming back for sure. Too many nice things to say about the cabin and area, I highly recommend it.

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!

  • 5 of 5
The cabin was awesome! Views from the porch and living room was better than I could imagine. The beach was clean and quiet. The only thing I regret was not renting for longer, but I won't make that mistake next year! Lisa was so hospitable and made my 40th Birthday one to remember. My teens loved it and so did my dogs - Everything you need is all wrapped up in a cute little package. Thank you so much for all the memories and can't wait to see you next year!

VERY DISAPPOINTING

  • 2 of 5
The house was advertised as lakefront - so with two elderly dogs and kayaks in tow, we arrived only to be confronted with a very steep stairway down to the water - about 60 steps. We had to find another location to access the water, a major factor in choosing this rental. This is not a place for elderly, little kids, elderly pets or kayak launching. The kitchen dishes were all cracked or chipped, the stove and oven were covered in baked on grease and there was no air circulation - not a single fan in the entire house (a definite necessity with no a/c). In addition, both the sheets and towels were very shabby.

Owner's Response: Stephen,
Thank you for the heads up regarding the sheets and towels, I have purchased new ones, and a fan. I would say however, one of my favorite guests is 82, he tells me stories of what is what like at the boy scout camp across the lake 70 years ago. We have many elderly guests with great stories and they love the cottage. The beach is a perfect place for small children, clean shallow water, no weeds. I am sorry you had a poor experience, but please do not assume that this is not a spot for elderly or small children. Lisa
