|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
Our home is located on the West End of Galveston- the perfect place to find peace on the bay and beach. It is close enough to town to enjoy the many sights and sounds that Galveston has to offer!
The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The rooms each have a queen sized bed with a television. Linens for the beds are provided, along with towels for the bathrooms at no extra charge. There is a washer and dryer to use for your convenience. There is a new television in the living room, with a big comfortable couch to unwind on after a long relaxing day. The kitchen has all you would ever need to make a delicious dinner. You can cook the fish or crabs you caught right out on the canal!
Since this is a canal home, we have a deck downstairs with a boat sling. Feel free to bring your own boat when you stay. Cruising through the canals is an experience you don’t want to miss. You can also fish straight off the dock; we have an underwater light installed just for that purpose. There is a wide variety of fish that swim through our canals in Jamaica beach. A cleaning station on the dock allows you to clean your catch right outside a few feet from where you are fishing! If you do not have a fishing pole, don’t worry we have some you can use.
We also have a crab trap available for setting up right off the dock. When you catch them, you can cook them with the big crab boiling pot up in the kitchen. We have a grill as well, for outdoor cooking.
There is a ladder on the dock so you can swim right in the canal if you fancy.
Four bicycles and two kayaks and a hammock are there for your enjoyment.
Jamaica Beach is the neighboring subdivision next to the State Park. The local police force gives you peace of mind, with there around the clock patrolling of the area.
Galveston is just down the road with all of its’ famous attractions. Schlitterbahn has its’ indoor water park open year-round. Moody Garden has its’ aquarium, IMAX theater, and other fun family attractions. There are museums scattered throughout the island including a flight museum. The Pleasure Pier is an amusement park and restaurants over the Gulf of Mexico.
Come stay with us. You will want to come back for more fun and relaxation away from the everyday hustle of life.
We wanted a weekend get away from Houston and found our home. We came every Friday until Sunday and just could not get enough of the fishing, beach and the wonderful island life. So we decided to move permanently to Jamaica Beach and have not had any regrets.
Nancy purchased this house in 2003
We decided to rent our home so others could relax and have family vacations like we did .
House and amenities were as advertised!.....Had everything we needed and many things we didn't even consider. Great spot for family fun. Very comfortable and relaxing. Will be returning soon.
Thank you for the best two months ever!! We so enjoyed our adventure as "Winter Texans" in Jamaica Beach. After researching hundreds of possible rentals we decided on the "Pink House." It was definitely the right choice for us. The home had everything we needed and more. It was comfortable and restful. The beach was just a short drive away, but we could enjoy the water and sunsets from the back deck. We definitely recommend this get away for your home retreat.
My family and I spent a weekend in this quaint house on the canals of Jamaica Beach. The house was well-furnished and we liked the very open architecture. We were extremely comfortable, enjoyed the views of the canal, set crab traps (provided for us) and even caught a few. The kids and our dog loved it. The beach is just a few blocks away, which was convenient. I would return. I really liked it. The second floor deck was a highlight.
Great deck upstairs which we spent a lot of time on. Great seating area on the ground floor. This house has everything! Great views, GREAT CRABBING! We took advantage of the crab traps and caught quite a few and ate those little buggers for dinner! There is a firepit too! We didn't catch any fish. I think they like live minnows and we had squid and chicken livers, sardines and hearts. The crabs loved it. Plenty of chairs outdoors for sitting. The house was spotless and lots of extras such as salt and pepper and paper towels. We left a little TP for the next guest. Plenty of pots and pans and kitchen items. More than enough towels were supplied as well. We do wish that we had an electric can opener when I had to open 4 cans of tuna with a hand crank one. But Nancy said she would buy one, so the next guest will have one! The TV's work great, the lighting is very good outdoors. Parking is ample for 3 cars. We had a family of 6 adults and 2 children and there was plenty of room for everyone. The dining room table is large too and was great for playing dominoes. The kids loved sleeping on the blowup bed and there were extra blankets for them. It was perfect. I highly recommend this awesome house! You won't be disappointed! It is much nicer than the photos depict. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us!
Our stay at the "pink" house was very enjoyable. The home owner made us feel very welcome and responded to any questions or requests immediately. The house was very clean, all we needed was food and personal belongings, everything else was provided. I would definitely consider renting again. Thanks, Nancy, this weekend was all we expected and more. Shirley B.
We were in town for the Galveston Half Ironman and rented this house for three nights. The house was very comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. The location was perfect, my niece and nephew were able to walk to the end of the road and watch me ride by and then the family jumped in the car and made it to Moody Gardens in time to see me run and finish. The adults and kids alike enjoyed fishing and crabbing, and is managed to get a little open water swim practice in before the race! This place was perfect and we'll be back again.
The beach is only a short ride away! You can even use the bikes that we have available to ride for that purpose. The beach is great for sunning, shelling, swimming and shark-tooth hunting! We have beach chairs for you to use, as well. Riding around Jamaica beach on a bike (or just walking!) is a relaxing experience, with the bay right there next to you. Try getting out around sunset. It is a breath-taking view.
A children’s playground is only a couple blocks away. It was recently re-built from the storm, which means that all of the equipment is new.
Feel like eating out? About one mile away, in Jamaica Village is a restaurant called the Blue Water Grill that specializes in anything from salads to pizza. Forget something but don’t want to drive back into town? Don’t worry; there is a local grocery store down the main road called Seven Seas.
